Amiga.org is proud to present the first of a series of special offers to all Amiga.org members;
The first offer is the well-known Cherry Cyboard wireless bundle (http://compcity.nl/amiga.org/orderform1.html), including the special Boing keycaps that will totally complete your Amiga or compatible system. The set consists of an RF wireless multimedia keyboard, an RF wireless scrollmouse, a receiver and a set of officially
licensed Amiga Boing keycaps to replace the Windows keys.
The keyboard can be used directly on AmigaOne, Pegasos, PC (WinUAE) systems and on classic Amiga models using PC keyboard and PC mouse interfaces.
The official retail price is 140 Euro for the keyboard set and 16 Euro for the keycaps. In conjunction with Computer City, Amiga.org can offer a complete set (i.e. keyboard, mouse, receiver, keycaps) for only 65 Euro ! (Amiga.org members only).
Please click on this link (http://compcity.nl/amiga.org/orderform1.html) for pictures of the keyboard and ordering information.

Thats a great offer, but theres no way it would replace my A4000 keyboards. I love them so much, i've stocked up on brand new ones, since they can't keep supplying NOS ones forever!
-
Good going Ron, good going Kees! Good deal!
-
I'd get one if it wasn't wireless ;-) There's a wired version of that
set available too, isn't it? Will it be sold over amiga.org, too?
-
Its a great offer, but I can't buy it as they are not offering a UK QWERTY keyboard. I can't deal with having the @ on the 2 and the " on the '
Oh well
:-(

@Rassilon
if you were spanish like me you would have even more problems like the lack of a "Ñ" key :-(
-
No, i'm sorry. We only have wireless bundles available. But why don't you want a wireless version ?
-
@ rassilon
Sorry .. only american and german version available.
-
@Kees
Big :-(

Is that God in your avatar? ;-)

@Kees
You don't happen to know whether its possible to order UK keyboards? (Obviously at the normal price of 140 euro) as it doesn't seem to say on the Computercity website.
Cheers

@ Rassilon
Please send a mail to amigaorgoffer@compcity.nl explaining what you want, and we might be able to get you a englisch version :-)
-
@Kees
Done, cheers :-)

Is the page hopelessly messed up under Netscape 7.1 or is it just me?
-
It's apparently just you. :-)
I see no problems in NS 7.1 or IE 6. Please consider sending a screenshot to Kees@amiga.org for his consideration?
{edit}
while I was primarily joking and I didn't see any problems, Kees is also seeing problems and is working to fix it.

it's also messed up in mozilla 1.4
here's (http://users.volja.net/habatter/AmigaKeyboard1.png) a screenshot

Those wireless keyboards normally don't feature any encryption, so
they are horribly insecure. If you don't care, it's ok. I'd attach
them to a system I only use for gaming or multimedia purposes, but not
for one that gets any data I don't want everyone to know. But then,
I'm a bit paranoid :-)
-
@ warface
I just installed Netscape .. and its messed up indeed.
I'll try and fix it ... :-)
-
Why, why WHYYYYYY is there not a swedish version?!??!! :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

Is that God in your avatar?
That is Marty Feldman as Igor, a great comedian!

I'm getting major rendering screwups in Moz 1.5b as well.
The W3 HTML validator doesn't like it very much either :-)

Infra-red range is only about 15m, max. At that range, people don't have to see what you're typing from the keyboard - they can see it on your screen! ;-)
-
>Infra-red range is only about 15m
It's an "RF wireless multimedia keyboard", that means radio frequency, not IR. It does have minimal protection in form of sixteen channels so you won't normally move the cursor on your neighbour's computer or see his keywords on your screen (but you might, if he's close and uses a similar keyboard).

Can I have only the Boing-Ball amiga keys ?
I want a Swiss German one :-D
-
The page should appear normal on netscape now ..
-
Sorry to say this. But I think the mouse and keyboard looks a bit out-of-fashion. To be honest, they both look ugly! Get rid of that blue colour, and those sharp edges. Sorry Computer City.
But hey, It's got a mousewheel! Thats good.

But then, I'm a bit paranoid
No worries.. There's a little Black Sabbath in all of us. :-P
-
But why don't you want a wireless version ?
Cos the little buggers always seem to know when you haven`t got any spare batteries and stop working ! :pissed:
-
We can send you a set of extra batteries with it :-)

Here is an excellent keyboard from Cherry that does have a cable, the G80-3000 (http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/classic-line/keyboard-standard-g80-3000.htm):
(http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/images/products/classic/g80_g81_3000.jpg)
This is the top variant from their Classic Line. Unlike the keyboard offered here (from their Trend Line), this one still has the gold-crosspoint technology that made them famous: individual gold-plated micro switches for every single key. Not the cheap rubber membrane contact system used in virtually all keyboards on the market - and Cherry's Trend Line keyboards. If you ever had such a keyboard before you, you know what that means: best tactile feedback in the world of keyboards. The unprecision and dampening effect that comes with rubber in the construction of keys is totally absent. At 50 EUR, it's not exactly cheap for a keyboard without wireless and without mouse and without multimedia keys. But it's worth every cent. Be careful though that they also have an inferior model with the same look and nearly identical name (G81-3000) but a cheap membrane contact system.

Amiga.org pages ?
Yes only some forum topics page loads in and text goes over to the far right But it worked in internet explorer . :-)

There have been zero changes to the templates or display of the site for several months. It is however possible that whatever forum you are viewing might either have a picture, a long URL, or one long word being written (as some people are prone to do) which keeps the screen from word wrapping.

Gaah! now thats an ugly keyboard :-P

Why, why, why, why can I never spot max transmission distance in wireless kbd/mouse sets? I thought it might be a quite important bit of info....
I thought it might be somewhere near the top of a spec list
