In a letter to the Amiga.org community, Dave Crawford announces his resignation at Amiga.org
On behalf on the entire staff, I would like to thank Dave for everything that he has done for Amiga.org and wish him all the best in the future.
------------------------------------------
Dear Amiga.org users,
The transition of Web master from Wayne Hunt to Kees has been completed, and my tenure too is at an end. During the time in which Wayne stepped down, I maintained my position for awhile to make sure that one of the other moderators could step up to the plate and score a few runs. With that task completed, I am now officially stepping down from the Web master position as well; although, I'm sure that many of you have already noticed that my rank has been changed. The roller-coaster has been fun, and I will now move to the cars in the back with everyone else. I appreciate the support that I received from the community during my tenure, and I thank y'all.
Years ago, I was editor of "The UGN Times," an ill-fated, amigaguide-based, periodical from Amiga.org. Later I created ARexx scripts, REBOL scripts, and various how-to guides, some of which are still available. After quite some time of helping AO from the shadows, Wayne decided to have me help out in a more official capacity for a plethora of reasons.
Eventually, I began to work on MorphZone, as an unofficial help site for MorphOS users. Due to my work there, I finally went to work for Genesi. I stayed onboard the AO crew because Wayne still hadn't worked through the reasons for me coming aboard in the first place. As everyone knows, Wayne eventually took a position at Genesi as well, but he was much more visible than I; thus, he felt compelled to step down immediately. I stayed on as a Web master to help ease the transition as best I could. That phase of Amiga.org's history is now over, and I can move back to what I've always done: helping in what ways I can from the background.
I really appreciate the support I've had from the staff, past and present, of Amiga.org. Just as importantly, I appreciate each and every member of AO that has lent an ear, posted a positive comment, or helped another user. While I may spend much of my creative energy on MorphZone now, rest assured that I will continue to provide support to Amiga.org and its users from the sidelines. Once again, thanks to everyone for the good memories.
Best Wishes,
Targhan
P.S. Those "thank yous" include the people who've taken the time to remind me when I crossed the line.

You'll be missed.

Yes..
-
Thanks guys. :-)

All the best Dave, and thanks for your contributions to amiga.org. Here's hoping MorphZone goes from strength to strength, which I'm sure it will.
Don't be a stranger.
-
Sorry to see you go... err... bye then.
*Edit*
I'll miss your avatar. :-)

;-) C'mon guys, it's not like I've sold my trusty old A1200 for a PC and leaving the forums completely. I'm just making the fact that I stepped out of the administration "official."
-
" ... then there were none!" :-D
-
Best wishes Dave and thanks for all the hard
work.

Good! As long as you stick around!

Is it just me or are people genuinely trying to be nicer towards each other lately:-D .
Thanks for your work Dave, I am sorry if I ever offended you. :-?

Hawaiian send-off...
That was nice. :-)

Welcome to the regular membership ranks, Dave. ;-)

I just said in another news item that you're one of the best impartial moderators on here, despite your Genesi position.
Ah well, at least you're still among us, make sure you don't get lost down here with us mere mortals :-P
-
Good riddance! :)
-
Thanks for your work - and keep banging that PC; someday it might work :-)
-
Hi Dave,
Done great work. But is it not normal to give a party when you leave? :-)

Take it easy . :-)

Damn....I guess that we can't run around screaming 'Dave's not here!' :-D

:) Thanks everyone! I'll enjoy the hula girls at the party and listen to Vincents praise :-D
Seriously, I appreciate the kind words, and will keep trying to do different things to help out.
I was thinking about donating my personal start-page to Amiga.org, as kind of a present. It's basically a page that has the search blocks from Amiga.org, MorphZone, and ANN on it. (Hey, I could easily throw in AW.net on the page too!) It's kind of my own personal Uber-Search start page :-P
