@mdma

On the "old" Beta2-server (probraly the same server, just a different login).

But beware that server seems to be cloacked (sp ?) by now.

Finally got to the point where I had a working CD-R again (downloaded with the PC),
and only boote in 5 min ago.

New mp3/ogg-player intregrated Turboprint and Poseidon,some kind of dockie
and a taskmanager is what I found so far.

And the default skin/theme is looking much beeter than the one on 1.3  ;-)

Not here to make warz.....

But how come MorphOS looks and works like a rigged version of Amiga????

They barely have calculator and a few features for the long awaited MOS1.4???

I dont know, but yet it probably wont grab my interest.

kd7ota:  Adwanced trolling  :-D

In the end. One can't please everybody. I personally prefer to use OS now and see it to grow instead of waiting years to some dreamy fantasy..

That statement actually sounds just a bit over the top, considering the various shows that has been all around Europe where people has seen the current state of the "dreamy fantasy". But hey, it's your words..

I like that term, "dreamy fantasy."  I may have to borrow it sometime.

Fact: MorphOS has a lot of really cool features and upgrades when moving up from AmigaOS 3.x.

Fantasy: MorphOS is a perfect OS and is completely ready for every instance of every task.

The fact of the matter is that MorphOS inherited (so to speak) certain drawbacks of AmigaOS, but since it was "rewritten" it was also missing some things here and there.  All in all, MorphOS is really a great thing, but as with all things there is room for improvement.  Time marches on, and a development group cannot just keep working behind closed doors releasing nothing "until it's finished."  Or, do you want another BoXeR?

(edit) Gack!  I didn't realize how that sounded!  This was referring to having a prior MorphOS 1.3 release that was missing some basics.  I was not referring to Hyperion!(/edit)

Your right, my avatar does, but I never did it.

Meh, no loss for not using MorphOS.  Windows just just fine and has everything I need.

Always loved those comparing MorphOS to the features of the most up to date Windows operating systems with zillions of developers.

I suggest you, try it out. It cannot match Windows in term of services, yet you will find something in it, which you won't see anywhere else besides AmigaOS.

The "Calculator" you mentioned - you could use almost any Amiga calculator program you wanted. Integrating a simle one into the OS is just a finishing touch. It's not tiny stuff like calculator that makes MorphOS or even AmigaOS great (hell, I've never used AmigaOS' built in calculator). What makes it great is that it preserves the feeling of the original while providing things you've never had at your disposal on an Amiga, or had them in a crippled way.

Thanks for the "constructive" post btw.

Nvidia and Electronic Arts currently don't support AmigaOS nor is it likely they ever will in the future. Is this how you can proclaim "Amiga Rules!"? Or perhaps you just hang out here because your ignorance isn't tolerated elsewhere?

Honestly, you don't even make a good troll.

@madgun68

You make a good person who is lame and bauls over the dumbest things. Jesus! Did I ever say they were going to do Amiga? No. So thats why you get something that they will support, so you are guaranteed something good.

No, not how I proclaim ""Amiga rules."", i say that because its the machine that did it first for gfx and awsome home gaming back then.

Geesh, how all of you get all bleh against someone who simply dislikes MorphOS.  I can recall this site is Amiga.org, not MorphOS.org....

They support my PC and I don't find Windows to be all that good. Matter of fact, if I did find Windows to my liking, I probably wouldn't have a reason to hang out here.

If Windows is so utterly fantastic, why do you come here? So you can remember a brief time in history?

It doesn't bother me if people don't care for Genesi. It also doesn't bother me if they don't care for MorphOS. That doesn't mean, however, that I need to put up with people that make negative comments about something they obviously know (and care) little about.

Can you also recall that people are free to discuss things are also related to Amigas such as Aros, UAE, Amithlon and even MorphOS?

Wow.... So saying that" windows does everything I need it to"... Thats a negative comment?

Oh well, just dont say anything, that will keep you smarter.  Don't hate us Windows users because whatever reasons you have.

And why do I hang out here??? Geesh. I use Amiga too.
