Back online after a complete site restructure, MorphOS.net (http://www.morphos.net) is more helpful than ever. Make sure to visit the official MorphOS website often for official updates, information, and press releases.
-
Good to see that all Pegasos/MorphOS sites get a coherent look and feel. Very nice page. Some finetuning is still required, but I bet it's because the site is rather new.
Again, nice site and content.
-
So, is Wayne involved in this design ? Or is this somebody else( good) work ?
-
@seer
This site is the result of many peoples hard work, from our graphics designer to our web team management.
-
@seer,
I had a bit to do with it, yes, but everything you see is a team effort. My team is proving to be the best group of professionals that I have ever worked with.
Maybe it's because I'm truly happy supporting a product that I believe in. :-D

MorphOs seems to be going great. My interest in this product is definately growing, allthough i wish that some of the people working there would show "another" attitude in some of the forums.
Great website, allthough you should have packed some more punch in the screenshots session (screen 4 and 5 don't look so good as opposed to the other screens). Remember that this little screenshot session is really important for first impressions so you should select only the best.
And why are the icons so big?
But great work.
-
I think it looks great now and I like it follows the same good style pegasosppc.com has. Oh yes, plus the step by step aproach too (reminds me the wizzards)!
Great job! (http://amiga.org/images/subject/icon14.gif) :-)
- Edit -
I noticed right now that there is no official MorphOS, Pegasos or Genesi logo on either morphos.net or pegasosppc.com. I know MorphOS and Genesi have, but I don't see them anyware.
-
Wow I'll have to say - finally I'm impressed!
Excellent and professional looking site
[morphos.net] and also excellent screenshots!
Even I'm HC Amiga user - I must praise your work!
You have excellent designer and thats why everything looks great! Keep up with great job!
p.s. Maybe you should use nicer font in MorphOS system [like on latest Amiga WB screenshots] - slightly bigger and rounded.
But even now MorphOS looks pro like MacOS!
Congratulations once more!
Now it will be interesting to see how Amiga will react. They must create something even better to make attention...
greets,

It might seem a bit lame to report this but I spotted a typo. In the section 'MorphOS Features' in the bottom left of the main page it says:
"You want to learn more about
MorphOS? Visit our features section
where you will detailed descriptions,
compatibility lists and more"
Should there not be find or see in between 'will' and 'detailed' ???
Just thought i'd point it out :-D
-
by the way .... it looks very nice ! ;-)
-
Very nice design. Really like the style of the diffrent Pegasos/MOS sites now.
And I like the "Genesi community" part aswell :-)
-
Very nice site indeed!
It's looks really professional and will surely bring attention from outsiders, people not familiar with the product, if happened to be stumbled upon randomly. It's a bit sad that some people seem to be more into good looks than good functionality... talking of websites that is... but this has some of both... and should thus attract both camps.
However, I can't deny that I sense this urge to say that that I find the site quite inspired by another site... by some big unmentionable company! Not necessarily a bad thing, 'cause I really do like the look and layout, but... still... =)

I think all screenshots are bad. Its not because of the skins or programs. Rather there is no effort what so ever to make Ambient look good.
Correct use of the new launcher(s), gradient colors, backdrops and pretty AA fonts would have made it look gorgeous. And some tools really need visual tweaking, as an example Calculator seen in one shot. That gradient is just plain horrible.
It feels like who ever took the shots, just quickly ran a few apps without thinking of positionioning, and grabbed the screen. I can assure users will be posting 10x better desktops to MZ gallery shortly.
-
Reminds me a lot of a certain other PowerPC based hardware company's site, but then I like theirs too :-)
[edit]
Actually, looking aound it, I find myself being more and more impressed. Sure there are things that I don't like (the question mark icon on the quick help page), but overall its a damn good effort. I almost want to buy a Pegasos ;-)
-
i'll be damned if MorphOS isnt a sexy bitch, year...
Seriously, those are the best shots of MOS i've seen. Not just the icons look good but i love the title bar. Also the information was very itneresting. I didnt know that MorphOS was modules.
The abilitiy to be able to inherit parts of the system sounds awsome, instead of just using them.
Looking for to hearing and seeing more.

Now with MOS 1.4... When can we expect your review? :-)
-
@Warface
When it's released. I have already started to think how to do it .. it will probably be partly a comparison between 1.3 and 1.4, while it will still focus on overall usability and features of 1.4.
I have to learn more about it as there are no documents about whats fixed, changed and added. Tons of new things to discover... plus I haven't got the final 1.4 even :-)
-
Great work WebDev Team!
Time for 1.4 now...;-)
:-D
R&B :-)

@z5
We have many people in the forums, many of whom are not jerks. Unfortunately, it is the jerks that most folks remember.
About the Icons, I thought I had provided a screengrab with smaller icons. I will create a new screengrab showing different sized icons if you would like. MorphOS can actually scale the PNG icons via a desktop setting, and it's really neat (translation: it's an excuse for me to play with MorphOS 1.4 again!)

That's true. But i would like to see MorphOs people more believing in their own strength instead of all those useless attacks on competition. I mean, you have the system and it seems to be shaping up, but i still see a lot of MorphOs ppl investing time trying to bring down the competition instead of focusing on strenghts of own system, if you know what i mean.
Whenever i read another troll post in forums, i wonder if that is the spirit that i will get when really joining MorphOs forums.
You should be praising the strenghts of your own system!
About the screens, i think it needs a bit more work. Hooligan claims he can do far better screens than that. The screenshot section was the first thing that i, as a potential customer, clicked on when visiting the site.
Maybe you could first do a section based on the standard look of morphOs, showing off various things about the gui,...
Then you could have a section dealing with giving it a different look and feel.
Now it is actually quite hard to see what the default morphOs looks like out of the box as all screenshots are different.
-
investing time trying to bring down the competition instead of focusing on strenghts of own system,
Remember friends, trolling -- like taxes -- is universal, "color"-blind, and stupid.
While I agree with your sentiments, I simply cannot agree with your viewpoint that attaches the symptom to only one side of the problem.
