After a surprising lack of show reporting, Daniel Miller writes on Amiga-news.de two clear and interesting insights into AmiWest, Part1 (http://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2003-07-00193-EN.html) covers Friday and Part 2 (http://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2003-07-00198-EN.html) covers Saturday.

I'm not surpised by the lack of reports.  The majority of interesting items were the presentations which are almost all online in mp3  format.  So no need to do a report :)  I did read Daniels reports and they are very good.

Several people prefer transcript because language
difficulty, disabilty (deaf, hearing problems).
It is difficult to understand the exact statement
from MP3 (spelling, etc).

I agree that transcripts would be great!  Feel free to spend the hours and hours of time it takes to listen and type that stuff up.  If there was money in it we could hire an  agency which can do it, but I have better things to do with my money.

It really should be noted that the presentation crashes were due to hardware that was damaged in shipping.

Genesi's hardware, despite careful packaging, was abused pretty severly and it's a testimony to the robustness of the hardware and the Genesi staff that they were able to get it running again.

However when the machine was moved for the presentation this didn't make the machine work any better and it caused problems.

What everyone did see was an Amiga compatible PPC based operating system working entirely on the Pegasos PPC platform now. In fact, Nova Design (myself and Cecilia) ran ImageFX all weekend on that platform for all demos!!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I remember a certain Microsoft Muckity Muck with a really bad haircut and glasses once gave a great demonstration of the BSOD to a packed house :-)
