For those of you using Amiga.org's Free E-mail Forwarding, please be advised that we've just installed Spam Assassin to cut down on the amount of spam being sent through the server. While not perfect, it's a darned good start.

Thanks Wayne!
It is a good start and I'm sure the community will welcome it.

Excellent. Even though some spammers nowadays craft specially targeted anti-spamassassin spams that get thru it, most spammers don't do that. Overall you could count at least 95% of spam stopped now.
Maybe some of you also remember that I suggested this solution in the old spam thread (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=44194) some time ago. :-)

So, is it supposed to be working now, then? I've been waiting for my test email for several hours now, I'm beginning to doubt it will ever arrive :-?
---Edit---
Hmm, i take that back, it arrived a little while ago :-)

It would seem that the spam assassin program has temporarily locked up. I'm talking to the ISP now for a solution.

I can't guarantee you that it won't happen again, we're still testing, but it should now be resolved.
