John Chandler reviewed (http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/1365/102000) an AmigaOne G4 for Suite101.com (http://www.suite101.com/).
"I've been hoping to review an AmigaOne G4 since January. Until recently, only a few of these beasts had been sighted in the wild, but now they are shipping thick and fast."
Check it out here (http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/1365/102000) ...

Nice Interview.
Anyone know what are the major differences between the UAE for Linux X86, UAE for Linux PPC, the WinUAE and the 0.8.6/0.8.12 available for Amiga PPC? (Never ventured deep into UAE land)
-
UAE for PPC lacks socket support and a JIT.
-
So far I haven't managed to do anything remotely useful will PPC UAE. :-/
-
So far I haven't managed to do anything remotely useful with a computer ;-)
It tends to turn into fun instead of usefullness all the time here :-)

Well, I guess mucking about with linux has been at least interesting and even fun sometimes.
UAE though is a poor replacement for my A1200. I guess that'll improve once I manage to get my A1 configured to my liking, which is taking slightly longer than I had hoped. :-D
-
Personally, I bought an Access and put that in the tower, so I always have a classic Amiga there (for emulating OCS/ECS, UAE is ok) :-)
-
Well I have my A1200 in an EZTower Mk5, which can supposedly (according to Alan) take both, although I don't see an appropriate power connector.
Once I get my A1 running stable, I want to put it in the EZTower, as I need the ATX case it's currently in for my Pegasos, and space is at a premium.

I appreciate news about Amiga's goings on.
But a review with no discussion of price?
That's quite an oversight since price has meaning to most people.
But assuming price is no object, then the review does succeed in giving one person's subjective opinion about performance of a system as compared to other computers he happens to personally own that run different operating systems at unknown revision levels and configurations.
That's a good review! And this is a good review of his review...in my opinion! What the heck...!
Serioulsy though, loved to read about Amiga on Suite101.com, and that did happen, I double checked..... :-D
-
In fact, since the release of the first batch of OS4 screenshots, Eyetech have been overwhelmed by the demand for motherboards and complete systems.
Well, I think this was interesting to read. I quess asking for numbers is futile ? :-?
