Breaking news:
The Amiga's best Shoutcast streamer has been updated: AmiNetRadio 2.0 is now available for download at anr.amigazeux.net (http://anr.amigazeux.net/)!
Clearly before the end of the year we are excited to bring you the longingly awaited Generation 2 of AmiNetRadio (ANRG2). Read the full press release while you download! (http://wrongpla.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=201)

Nice press release somehow it reminds me of something :-D.
-
The pressrelease is not there to cause offence, btw. It's a satire aimed directly at the heart of the rot of the Amiga community. Oh well...if people don't find it funny, they can just download ANR and be happy instead. ;-)
-
Nice press release! We will rule the next 12-24 years for sure. I always belived that and I will blindly follow every announcement that uses lots of abbreveviations and long term announcements. as long it sounds that excited!
selco
:-D :-D :-D
BTW, I am still looking for a streaming *sender* for Amiga.......
-
Can't wait to get to the shop and download this for my Peggy. :) I've been using version 1.x for some time now and love it!
:-D :-D :-D

I'd be interesting in something that'd take on iTunes. I get the satire of the AmigaOS forums style press release. I even find the screenshots joke funny.
But calling Hyperion a bunch of amatures, and OS 4 a waste of time is ment to be nothing but offensive.

And yet this isn't an original statement. It's a parody and a reversal of a statement from the same people this is aimed at. AmigaZeux have being doing press releases like this for years, and we always will.
Anyway, try to forget the politics, download ANR and have fun with it. And remember to give your thanks to people who are actually doing something for the Amiga community. :-)
-
A big hearty thank you for an internet application that makes traffic through a http proxy possible...and indeed works! Weehow!
Though I cannot find any place to turn off the butt-ugly blur/animation/whatnot thing off, so I can actually see what is playing :/
Sincerely,
-Kenneth Straarup.

It's kinda hard to forget the politics when someone is shoving them right in your face.
I like your little comment about people actually contributing to the community, absolutly no zelotry there at all.
I think I'll stick to iTunes thanks.
-
and we always will
What use a press release to further expound your zealous Amiga market political views in the most offensive way possible by trying to hide behind calling it "satire" or a "joke".
Right. :-o
-
@DaveP
snicker.. Come on, that was just good satire. AI have been doing identical press releases to this for years :-o
-
@Redrumloa
Id love to enjoy the joke but I can't recall an Amiga Inc press release that this satires:
We will not contribute to the cause of OS4 because it is a wasted time effort (WTE) and also because if the rules of the project are correct, then we would be supporting potential amateurs.
Mind you I don't tend to do much more than skim read Amiga Inc press releases.
-
@DaveP
I remember reading somewhere where they stated they wouldn't support Pegasos hardware because of similar reasons.
-
Btw. PPl! Use the About option in the menu of ANR.. AtariNetRadio ?!?
-
@redrumloa
Well I can't find the press release for that ( not that I am amazingly motivated either way ) but whilst the language used is an entertaining ( but not ha ha funny ) spoof, it is still, IMHO, hiding behind that to make an attack on the AOS4 team - KennyR has posted below that ( he used the "we" so I guess hes on the ANR team ) something which confirms in my mind that this is just a sham for the politics.

Come on, OS4 has turned out to be a huge joke. When was it suppost to be released, Xmas 2002? :roflmao:

No X-Mas 2001, get it right! "On schedule and Rocking" don't forget. But that was Amiga Inc and H&P, that was before Hyperion bought the project.
-
Hyperion bought the product ?????
The story gets weirder and weirder from day to day :-P :-o ;-) :-D :-)
Oh, and it was feb/mar 01 for OS4 under Hyperion :-D
-
@ kronos
Man you are funny :lol:
Oh, and it was feb/mar 01 for OS4 under Hyperion
So they were going to release it before they were involved in the project and before AmigaOS was even publically announced? yeah good one.
Unless you meant '02 instead of '01. in which case isn't that when MOS was due out? Oh yeah they couldn't release it because they still hadn't written half of it :lol:
-
@uncharted
yeap typo ...
Find it funny how the reds are allways trying to defend theirs delays with
"but MOS also..... "....
I mean, if you think that through you would come to Mid 2005 before OS4 reaches todays MOS ;-)
A few word on MOS-delays:
Back in those days they were still talking about releasing a "bring ur own WB"-version
(stupid idea, but that was the plan) and a WB-replacement at the end of 02.
Thanks that they didn't release that, and Ambient was even released a few months early.
I know someone will now come with "but they have later added so much to the OS4-spec..."
I really hope that Hyperion knew about the sate of the Escena-A1 and it's replacemnet
from MAI, so they knew that they would need to go to a 100% chipset-free OS from day
one, and the fact that Ben ordered that MorphOS-Dev-Peg add further evidence to
that conclusion.
They did promise something for the CS-PPC to be ready in under 0.5 years, and after
over 1.5 they have only sortof reached that point.
-
@Kronos
Wow I'm a "Red" now am I? When did that happen?
Something tells me that someone is losing the arguement and has to resort to labeling to try and get out of it. this is further shown by the totally unrelated drivel you tacked on the end.
Fact is AOS has been delayed, MOS has been delayed.
Very simple. You can try to deny it, you can try making excuses for MOS, you can try to make it seem as if AOS is the spawn of satan, but you can't change the facts.
Oh yeah, and for future reference I'm not a "Red", I just like taking whingy, arrogant, repetitive idiots like yourself down a peg or two irrespective of what "colour" they are. :-D (see my avatar to see what I think)
-
@uncharted
Yes, looking at your post over the last months, you are a "red". Wether you deny it or not
doesn't matter, all I see is that you are allways 1st (well o.k. 2nd) in line when you think
it's time to critzise MOS/Genesi, but just ignore when Hyperion/AInc go out of hand.
And as I promised, someone would answer "OS4 is late" with "MOS too"
:-P
-
@Kronos
At the risk of dragging this on......
Like I said I only go for those arrogant whingy whiney idiots rather than a particular company. How can I help it if there is an imbalance of those types towards the MOS camp? :-o
People don't like it because I'm now more inclined to say it as I see it now, whereas I used to hold back. There is very little need for me to comment on Amiga/Hyperion mistakes as the piranha like nature of certain parts of the community do a more than adequate job of that. You won't find me unecessarily defending those mistakes.
There is a certain type of attitude that grates me and that I will react to. It's "platform independant", so you can keep calling me a red, you can try to label me all you want, it won't deter me from going for you and others and arguing against you when your arrogance and anti-community spirit pisses me off.
Say hello to your nemesis :pissed: :-D
BTW nice one, with your "promise", you managed to predict something after it was already said. :lol: You're really on fire today. :roflmao:
-
Like I said I only go for those arrogant whingy whiney idiots rather than a particular company
Now you got everyone wondering if they have had a run in with you or not. ;-)
-
I thought this:
We will not contribute to the cause of OS4 because it is a wasted time effort (WTE) and also because if the rules of the project are correct, then we would be supporting potential amateurs.
Was a spoof of the comment by (Fleecy?) that they wouldn't support AmiZilla because it also supports MOS. (Or something to that effect. At least, that's the only thing that came to mind after I read it.)
