I released a Warp3D wrapper for WinUAE.
Have a look (http://www.student.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/~konrad/)
-
Ingenious! And what a lot of UAE users wanted. :pint:
-
Fantastic, well done! :-D :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint:
-
great! i can see Payback in all its glory :)
-
This sucks, I'm not using Windows!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Then implement WinUAE's native interface in the UAE port of your OS.
Easy.

this is so damn great who needs real amigas now. forget buying overpriced ppc amiga emus, just get a cheap x86 box and ya laughing .

forget buying overpriced ppc amiga emus
While I agree this wrapper is VERY cool, i wouldn't go so far to make this statement:-) Pegasos are reasonably priced and extremely fast. Elumation can only take you so far.

Lets not get carried away. Payback is the only real use for this, until UAE actually gets WarpUP emulation. Most w3d apps are PPC. If it ever does get WOS, it's not going to get it for a long, long time, and let's just say its not going to be much use on a 2GHz PC. It might actually be cheaper just to get a Pegasos than a high-end PC. :-D

@KennyR

I dunno mate, JIT emulation of PPC instructions on a 3Ghz PIV or Athlon would probably be faster than a 600Mhz G3, lets face it there ain't that many instructions to translate. ;-)
Shame there isn't even a usable PPC interpreter let alone recompiler! :-(

Great work.... :-D :-D

@RoKo
Nice…

Interesting how there is lots of x86 emulators for the powerpc, but still NO powerpc for x86. Might it be that it ISN'T that simple? ;-)
-
Heh, this is a pretty cool development :-)
Since Warp3D is a rasterizer only (no T&L pipeline), I wonder how various amiga os OpenGL implementations (eg Mesa, MiniGL) run.
Think about that for a moment - OpenGL running atop Warp3D which itself sits on top of OpenGL :-)

There are commercial PPC simulators for X86 (mainly use for embedded development) …
IS there a large desktop need for the X86 world to adopt PPC’s ISA?

T&L can easily be done in software.
Otherwise a rasterizer would not make much sense, as T&L is necessary for every 3D app.

@RoKo,
Well, I do use 3D hw for 2D stuff also ;-)
-
@ Karlos:
That's why I wrote "does not make much sense" instead of "does not make sense at all" ;-)

I expect it's very simple. But I assure there is no market for it. Anything available for a PPC based platform has probably been ported from an x86 one :-)

Another "i know everything,and i'm the best" guy, who will say me what i have to do... another "proffesional specialist".... guys, where are you coming from? want emul? go and get it, and leave us , true Amigians alone... you've got your own forums, do not say us, what is good, and what's not! ok? nostalgic bastards! eh! am i clear? :destroy: :destroy: :destroy:

@baderman
.and leave us , true Amigians alone
Note that this 3D warper may benefit/enhance the official Amiga Forever 5.x package.
