Title: New ray tracing software available for MorphOS, AmigaOS and other.
Post by: redrumloa on May 23, 2003, 01:26:46 PM
Kray is a freeware raytracer and is now available for MorphOS, AmigaOS and LinuxPCC. Look here (http://www.kray.prv.pl/).

Source: MorphZone (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=67).

For now KRAY is a very beta version. It has no GUI yet. You must learn simple (for someone who knows mathematics) script language. For detail or language reference see readme file.

It also needs a home with a faster connection.  Accessing the site is like using a 28.8k modem again. On a very bad day.

Maybe I just hit it at a bad time...

The page loads slowly here, too, with a broadband connection. I guess it's the remote server's fault.

It's maybe the way Poland is connected to the "rest of the world". It's not that bad here though (Hungary, cable), but not that fast I admit. :-)

It looks good.
Very nice lighting/material qualities.

Looking forward to future developments: soft shadows, blurred reflection/refraction/translucency, SSS

I wish it could import Lightwave scenes or Imagine files for the coordinates.

p.s the connection speed is fine in Hong Kong. :-)
