According to the following story on Yahoo! News, T-Mobile, another of the top 5 cellular phone corporations worldwide has indefinitely "shelved" plans for Microsoft's "smart phone" due to several fundamental issues leading to a high failure rate.
Quote: "We have decided not to introduce this phone," a T-Mobile spokesman said on the sidelines of a Deutsche Telekom news conference. "For the time being, we are not pursuing this project further."
What impact -- if any -- this has on Amiga's Microsoft partnership and DE roadmap remains to be seen.

Amiga Inc should drop PWindows driven smartphones!!!
No one is using them and they are a complete failure.
90% of the smartphones use the symbian OS.
Which is rock stable!!!!!
Non of my Psion PDAs ever crashed and they in use everyday.
A friend of mine has a T-Mobile PDA/smartphone with PocketPC Windows:
it crashed 3 times a week!!!!
Amiga Inc should go for the SonyEricsson, Nokia, Samsung, Motorola,
Panasonic, Siemens, BenQ and Mitsubishi Symbian smartphones .
They all can do JAVA so they all can run Amiga DE.

@Manou
Right, except that AmigaDE does not need JAVA. It just needs CPU power, memory and a decent host OS.
btw. things like "Microsoft is using AmigaAnywhere to market their PocketPC and Smartphone" (in the latest CAM) is really not the way to attract Nokia interest, amongs other things... :-( :-( :-(

Although I am a little sad this may cock-up part of Amiga.inc's plan - I am glad the possibility that M$ may one day be in control of my mobile phone is reduced.
I think Amiga Inc should still persue that market tho.
