Title: Online Photos of the Mirage 1200-based Amiga
Post by: DJS on May 14, 2003, 01:50:22 AM
The Elbox Support Website has now photos (http://www.elbox.com/manuals/mirage_1200_folder/mirage_1200_ig_4.html) presenting how the new Mirage 1200 tower may be used to house a really well-expanded Amiga 1200-based system.

The Amiga in view is fitted with the Mediator PCI 1200 SX busboard and Blizzard PPC 240/060/50, a Voodoo 3 graphic card, a PixelView TV Pro card, a Terratec 512i digital sound card, a Spider II USB 2.0 5-port controller, a FastEthernet 100Mb/s network card, a FastATA 1200 EIDE controller, a Samsung 80GB HDD, a 52x CD-ROM, a 40x12x40x CD-RW, an LS-120 drive, an All-in-One USB 2.0 Flash card reader, a Logitech USB mouse and a A3000 keyboard.

Great looking box.The quality of the cabling work is very good too :)

I cant wait to see this thing with a shark PPC instead of a blizzard.

One thing I'd like to see is an Amiga audio pass-through included with one of these boxes or even seperately. Many of the Mediator supported cards have mutiple audio in ports and providing some kind of Amiga audio to audio card connection would be great for those programs that don't support AHI or some other retargetable audio.

I rigged up a patch cable to do this, but I had to route the wires from the external Amiga audio ports and in through one of the PCI holes to connect it to the card. Not pretty.

The other thing I would like is for these boxes to secure the A1200 internal expansion cards. My Blizzard PPC card flops around in my E/Box 1200 and it makes me uneasy considering how much I originally paid for it and the rarity of them now.
