We would like to take this moment to welcome Hyperion as an advertising sponsor of Amiga.org. Their demonstrated support of this site is greatly appreciated and it is only through the support of existing companies such as Hyperion, Elbox, Fore-matt computing, and Genesi that Amiga.org is able to continue.
-
Excellent! Welcome aboard!
-
Bravo!! Welcome aboard:-D
-
Yay! :-)
-
Blimmin' wonderful. The drum beat of publicity on the run up to the release of AOS4 starts where it should do - on Amiga.org.
:-D
-
In advance, I do *not* mean this to be flame bait.
Amiga.org is now supported by both Genesi and Hyperion. Regardless of your personal "religious" beliefs in the World of Amiga, I for one am happy to see that both understand the need to support the Amiga community by way of supporting sites like Amiga.org.
Considering the recent trials and "controversy" around both this site and Wayne personally by certain agitators, maybe now we can put all that crap aside and get back to actually supporting the Amiga community?
Wasn't that why we were here in the first place?

GREAT! :-D
Welcome Hyperion :-)
-
ROCK ON!!!
I love it. I just remembered Hyperion is my favorite software house.
I cannot wait for OS 4!
-
This is indeed great news, good on you, Hyperion! :-)
It also helps keeping a bit of balance on the biggest community site we have. :-D
-
Always nice to have some good news, Welcome
:-)
-edit-
Aww shuckz, i just seen the os4 advert, it's getting close! ;-)
-

i have 50 bucks on a paypal account
and thought of donating it to amiga.org :)
about halfvay in the process i stopped when i
remembered wayne's amigaworld/ku klux klan babble
and his 'im sorry to hear,os4 is months away'
babble
too bad...
-
Ya catohagen,
I have 100 bucks in a paypal account, that I typically give to people named 'catohagen' but then I remembered about your anti-amiga.org babble, and decided not.
such ashame.
[edit]
btw, OS 4 is still months away, until Hyperion say otherwise. And I don't think an advertisement makes it more ready, it just means they are supporting amiga.org....thats a good thing, ashame you had to bring up the OS 4 is seriously delayed subject...I was enjoying the good buzz
-
hey I hit refresh like a bazillion times, and finally I got to the OS4 adverisement, and then when I clicked on it, it sent me off to http://os.amiga.com/os4/OS4FeatureSet.php, but then it didn't load, got a page could not be displayed error.
just fyi

Could some kind soul post the URL to the banner picture? I don't want to spend the rest of the evening reloading the front page hoping that the damn Hyperion banner finally comes up..

I tried that, but the picture at http://os.amiga.com/os4/OS4FeatureSet.php is not the same or as good as Hyperion's banner.
-
I bow in respect. Well done Hyperion! :-)

They sell other software than OS4 too you know ...
BTW, if I understand the german page correctly, then KDH (http://www.kdh-shop24.de/catalog/default.php) announces OS4 (both for CSPPC and BPPC) to be on sale 1st of May 2003. Perhaps one should take that with a bucket of salt :-P, but you never know ;-). And that's not even "another two weeks" away, only one! :-P :-D
-
Nice to see something from Hyperion, hope it's not too long now :-D

There ya go ;-)
It took me about 10 refreshes to finally see it, but I wasn't going to give up! :-D
It's a nice picture aswell, worth sitting refreshing for ;-)
What you have to do (if your browser is capable) is right click on the image to get a menu, then select "Copy picture url" or "Copy image location" or similar, that gives you the direct link to the picture. Or you could do "Show image" which would open a new web page of the picture only, the picture url will obviously now be in the address bar.
Like so: http://simoami.com/images/banners/aos4static.gif (http://simoami.com/images/banners/aos4static.gif)

good to see them advertiseing here ;P
-
Extremely good news!
-
Wow ... have you seen the non static banner ... Nice :-o
Simoami is the best :-D
-
Care to post a link to the non static banner?
-
Excellent news.
Well played Hyperion!
:pint:
-
You should try to wxperiment your self ;-)
Take the other link, and exchange "static" with "banner" :-D
I think it looks great :-o :-o :-o
-
Yes.
-
sehr gut!
-
Since I posted the static image, I thought I'd post the banner image aswell.
Enjoy! :-D

If these images are only allowed to be posted as adverts and not in topics like this, delete the pictures. I don't think this should be a problem though.

Welcome! I have a few Hyperion products, hope to have more in the future :-)
BTW, I wonder why Hyperion is financing the OS4 advertisements, aren't they just external developers or the like for Amiga Inc?
-

No, AFAIK Hyperion own OS4 and have the right to keep developing it, in the event that Amiga Inc. folds or something like that.
Someone please correct me if I'm way off here, that's just how I understood it, but I'm not really into the details.
-

well, the relationship between them and Amiga, Inc. is fairly complex, but they have a financial interest in seeing OS 4 a success, so I could see them doing selected advertising to promote interest.
Another source of advertisement, would be dealers themselves...softhut and compuquick, my regions dealers...would do well to promote the product and get in on that revenue stream, when its actually something they can stock.
And, of course, in a normal world, Amiga, Inc. would promote the product too...but I will be happy if they stand aside and don't do too much to sabatoge the project....hows that for lowered expectations :-)

This is great news! :-D :-D
