The new sound card Delfina by individual Computers (link: www.ami.ga ) was introduced successfully last weekend at the AmiGBG show in Gothenburg, Sweden. Meanwhile, all important European dealers have been supplied, so the anticipated delivery date of April 7th can be kept without problems.
The module that is available now is ready to be used on nearly any Amiga. The included 22-pin cable for the A1200 clockport can also be used to connect to an X-Surf Ethernet card in a "bigbox" Amiga.
Probably the most important reason to buy this card is the DSP, the digital signal processor. For example it allows playing back MP3 nearly without CPU load. MP3 is a popular audio format that is also used by artists to put demos on the internet. Free music samples and full titles are available on sites like Entertainment-Mafia (Link: www.entertainment-mafia.de ). With the Delfina, an Amiga can playback MP3 even without an accelerator in the best possible quality.

Mmm nice! Very nice sound card!

I wonder when people will stop doing hardware for old Amigas...
I think I'll be flamed now ! :-)

I think I'll be flamed now !
You should; that was a stupid comment.
Anyway, a great product, together with ALGOR, they will be my next buys.
-
As long as Jens keeps making Zorro/PCI flipper cards with clock port attachments I suppose :-)
I suspect that once the AOne has a foothold in the market this sort of product will start to disappear in favour of "standard" PCI/AGP stuff.
-
How fast is the clockport, compared to Zorro3 and PCI?
Flamed? well.. oki.. Done! :)

Any ideas?

OK ok, it is only for old amigas, but it is a good card anyway!
I'll don't buy it, i have a great Sb128 on my Mediator, but i like when some good company products some good hardware.
-
It is NOT only for old amigas. It's a good piece of hardware that should NOT be afraid of competing with the PCI sound cards on the consumer market of today.

A couple of years after they stop doing hardware for C64 :-P
It´s a great sound card and will be put on my shopping list for my A1200 right before the scandoubler.
The Flipper interface is really a good idea make ONE card that then fits both standard A1200s, bigbox amigas, amigaone, pegasos and pcs.
It´s not only for old amigas I´m sure it can be used in Amigaones and i would prefer it over any built in AC97 sound which really isn´t that good, atleast not for recording.

Darnit!! No more bix box amiga, and I so wanted one of these :-x
-
when? when the Amigaone exists and has AOS on it... not Linux...the jury is still out on when that will be..

It can be used in a PCI slot too.
And on the clockport.

I think it looks great!
I'll even consider buying one for my A1,
the real audio-out connector (no 3,5mm crap)
and hardware mp3 decoding are true candy,
:-D
