The 3rd round of Q&A. (http://amigaworld.net/modules/fleecymoss/index.php?cat_id=3) from Amiga Inc's Fleecy Moss has been posted.
-
The only answer for all questions on 3rd round of "Q&A" is:
"Coming Soon!"
They're up now. Besides, "Coming Soon!" could answer some of them... :-)
-
Why we even bother listening any more is a bit of a surprise to me. Three years of "coming soon" makes it a "status quo" type issue.

I'm more surprised that any cares anymore.

Useless company with a massive user base of loyal fans, sad really.
"On schedule and rocking!"

Regardless of the quality of the questions and answers its nice to have a dialog going with amiga.inc after these years with silence. It has often been said that amiga.inc should behave a bit more like genesi and Bill Buck in public relations. If you compare statements from the two companies they are more or less alike. Fleecys statements strike me to be a bit more carefull but more proffesional than Bill Bucks

From the Interview:
Indeed, the first appearance of Amiga product in a mainstream computing channel has also witnessed our old friend, piracy, returning to the platform. Dean Brown, our hardware guru found three of the Gamecard packs in the Bellevue CompUSA and someone had cut one open with a scalpel and stolen the Gamecard!
I know it's not really funny, but it's good to see there's a demand for them. :)

What never ceases to amaze me is the cheap cynicism. One minute people are demanding a public forum to pose questions, the next they are dismissing the responses because they don't like them.
In many cases criticisms are warranted. But stop for a second and consider how much of a logistical nightmare it is to try to undertake a project of this scope in a market that is so soft.
I look forward to these weekly sessions and hope that they can remain a permanent fixture.

I agree, I look forward to them too. I guess I can't blame some people for getting worked up either. I just hope people give him credit when things start happening. I think Amiga been burned a few times, so they're carefull about what they say. It's a good read anyways.

I'll bite, just how much logistics does it take to call a OEM order x amount and then swap out the BIOS and add a boing ball sticker?

I like these Q&A
-
We don't as yet have a delivery date for the Club Amiga T-shirts but we are working hard on sorting the situation out. I can't go into the reasons why we have had such issues but the delay is as irritating for Amiga as it is for those who are waiting for them. Resolution of this situation is pretty close to the top of our agenda.
Now, was that also not said some time ago? Not that I care or something since I did not order such t-shirt. What's there to sort out? You got a design and you go to the company that can make them for you. That's all that needs to be done. It's really simple.
It's not that it is top priority or something but it would give the people the idea it can be resolved.

Well, even if You are good at things You do (gfx, code, music and so on) to create something REALY good You need eternity. Give them time!
-
How about updating this "news" item now? The "coming
soon" is always there some days before fleecy's answers
arrives. And now they have. Wayne?

@slim
While I'll agree that it's not news, you are misreading it. The "Fleecy Fluff Weekly" article contained nothing but "coming soon" responses, NOT that the article itself is coming soon.

You are confusing Alan Redhouse for Fleecy.
Oh yeah, I wouldn't minimize Hyperions workload on the BIOS btw. I would minimize Fleecy though, he has nothing to do with Eyetech/Hyperion's labor other than license the name. Actually Bill Mc probably signed those papers..
What does Fleecy do again?
:-?

Agreed. But my point is that it looks a bit stupid that those t-shirt business is still not taken care of. It allready is like this for some time and similair answers have been given before.
It makes them look like me with my bucket on, a bit stupid.

Having seen an identical post made by asian1 on
amiga.com a couple of days ago, I pretty sure he posted
this as sort of a joke reflecting the fact that before
fleecy's answers get posted, the questions have
"ANSWERS COMING SOON" witten under them. I think he
just forgot the trailing smiley.
The Q&A being fluff is an opinion (or a rant), not a news
item.
If that's how you interpreted this post I am surprised you
didn't moderate it to be more objective. A news posting
should not have any obvious opinion of the poster (unless
that is the whole point of the post, such as with a
review). Opinions are what the comments are for.

Any time you want to volunteer to post or moderate news items, feel free to let me know.

Hi Coder,
I bought into the Amiga Club and this Party Pack deal that they had. I doubt it's hard for them to create a logo and place it on a t-shirt. I am much more interested in AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, AROS and coming versions of Tao-Group's Intent (tm) which AmigaDE is based.
If you want to make a cool Amiga t-shirt, mug, mousepad, etc then check out http://www.cafepress.com . Just supply them with the proper image and you can make all the t-shirts you want, even just one! :)
I wonder why Amiga doesn't just use Cafe Press? It only takes minutes to do! ..well okay, minus making the logos/artwork.

I realize it's a lot of work to moderate a site. But if you
just tried to subtly say "do it yourself if you think you're
so good", I am not feeling the least guilty, rather insulted. I
do post news here whenever they come by me. I do not
have time to actively moderate. In this case I tried to help
by pointing out an angle you might had missed. If you
disagree with my interpretation, say so, instead of taking
the cynical route as soon as it is given.
If I misunderstood you attitude, I apologize in advance.

Wayne himself does not have time to moderate everything himself, he leaves that up to his staff. If you think There is something innapropriate that needs moderating, the best course of action would be to PM the appropriate moderator. At the moment I don't see the old who's who, but JamesR comes to mind as news moderator. If you don't get satisfaction with a moderator move up the ladder to a webmaster. Targhan and Kent come to mind.
If I misunderstood you attitude, I apologize in advance.
I think you misunderstood. Just understand no matter what you do someone will take pop shots at you, and everyone has suggestions. Wayne can't field everyone himself, that's why he has staff:-P He's offering you a job, why would that be an insult :-o

Will you please try to make a logical argument?
You say we must either accept lack of communication or the answers they give.....how is that logical?
A community can both demand communication and demand real progress.....its not either/or, BOTH can be demanded at once.
