Hi, I'm new here :) !
I was wondering - does anyone still use amithlon at all? I do occasionally, but .... can anyone help me get it to run on my laptop? (Works almost 100% on my main system, though no sound as it dosen't seem to like the SBLive card I have installed). I think the laptop (Celeron 1ghz) has a SiS 720 or 750 graphics chipset....but if I try to start amithlon, even booting from the CD the screen goes completely white. Does anyone know if I can run amithlon from within Linux; I have Mandrake 9.1 installed on the system.
Thank you!

within linux the uae might be the easiest choice.

Hi ljones,
Welcome to amiga.org
Yes, a few people still use Amithlon.
It sounds like you are going to need the latest update called "contrib3b" as well as the latest kernel. These should not only give you a far better chance of using that laptop, but also get the SB Live! working.
You should find the links you need to visit here (http://www.umilator.net/blog) and llok for the CONTRIB3B entry. A link to the kernel should also be somewhere thereabouts.
A good place to visit is the Yahoo Groups "amithlonopen" mailing list. You'll find a lot of answers there.

Thank you :).
(Though it's 2.30 AM here in the UK, I'll give this all a go tomorrow!)
