@erol

 :lol:  :roflmao:  :crazy:  :quickdraw:

AIX is short for the french name of the town Dietmar
is (was ?) living in.

Don't ask me why he used the french name of a german town
(Aachen) for his editor, but he did.

GoldED-AIX works on "real"-Amigas, UAE, Amithlon and MorphOS.

I'd really like to buy it.  Unfortunately, there is no online payment method.  I'm in the U.S. and the author is "across the pond" so that makes his accepted methods more difficult to use.  I think he'd get a lot more sales if there was an online payment method.

Aix La Chapelle or Aachen. It's the left-most corner of Germany  where the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet. The roman emperor Carolus Magnus (Karl der Grosse) had his main residence here, 8th century. Some thirty+ kings and emperors were crowned in Aachen.

Sounds nice. It's widely used locally. You will find copy shops or car rentals that have names such as AIX Press or AIX tra.

It works with AOS3. I'm not sure about Morphos, there are conflicting reports.

I don't see why an intl. letter would be more difficult than a national letter (buy a stamp, go to postbox, wait three day) but I'd agree that the sole online method offered by me (bank transfer) is too expensive from the US. Regrettably, services such as Paypal require that the receiver holds a credit card, which I don't, and they often charge fees which exceed what I find reasonable.

@Dietmar

a)Carolus Magnus was NOT a roman emperor, but he wanted to be
seen in the tradition of those. The only real roman emperor
of that time was ruling from Konstantinopel(Byzanz/Istambul).

Naming his empire "holy roman empire of german nation " (this
translation sucks a bit) adds to this confusion.

b)GoldED does run on MorphOS, once you maneged to get working
Arexx-setup. A little bit of a hassle, but no real prob.

PayPal doesn't require me to have a credit card.  Only a checking account.  Is it different for them overseas???   What about RegNet or other services??

Ok, let's be precise. He was the emperor of The Holy Roman Empire. Much of France, Italy, Spain and Germany, I believe. Crowned in Rome.

more about this guy (http://www.mrdowling.com/703-charlemagne.html)

What exactly is the problem with Morphos and Rexx ? What about installation ? I'm highly sceptical regarding InstallerNG.

Yes. Withdrawing (to a bank account) requires a credit card, for no apparent reason other than authentication, I believe. However, people who signed on early don't have to have a card. About that other services, I just don't have the time/patience to wander the web and experiment with those and talking customers into signing up with them.

@Dietmar

That is simple:
Throw out the rexx-libs in mossys:
Put the 68k-rexx-stuff in.
All o.k.

Installing requires a few tries, but starting the C= installer
from a Shell normally does the trick.

And for those "EULA-freaks" :

Sue my butt  :-P

Dietmar's site is now http://www.softwareandcircuits.com/. GoldEd is now incorporated into CubicIDE. I bought it last year.

(FYI - next time, you may want to start a new thread instead of brining up an old one from 11 years ago :) )
