Post by: alx on March 24, 2003, 02:49:50 AM
Fleecy Moss has now replied to the new lot of questions from Amigaworld users.  Topics covered include the AmigaOS timetable, developing for AmigaOS and Java on Amiga.

I'd say WOFTAM, except it's probably more like WOFTAE.

I just have to say it. Amiga Inc. have destroyed our community, tougether with Genesi.

Youre all after money, not the community and youre not after glad and possitive community. I want Commodore back!

Is it just me or does this guy talk a lot without
really saying anything???

"However, there are also opportunities"

or

"we have agreed to talk further"

or (this one's really good IMO)

"The Zico spec was an indication of the type of
functionality that we intended to provide..."

and

"There have been initial contacts"...

This guy is a classic "smoke blower" if I've
ever seen one. And I mean no offense - I think
it's pretty funny actually.

I can only hope this isn't going to become a weekly "news" item all over the forums, because it's no longer news. It's free advertising and PR for both Amiga Inc and AmigaWord.net. I bet if anyone ectually reproduced the questions and answers rather than just posting a link all hell would break loose.

Surely this initiative has had enough coverage. Those that are interested already know about it and are more than likely regulars on that forum already.

Let's stick to posting news in the news section, shall we?

  :-(

(I have no objection to these sessions being commented on in the forum section if that's what people want to do, but please cut out the blatant advertising. It's just as annoying as that coming from the blue side.)

It works for me, Fleecy has to know that people are going to slam him no matter what he says. All I can say is I hope those people will give them the benifit of the doubt a bit longer- after all, in a few months it will have been 10 years since there was any new Amiga hardware. I can certaily wait a bit longer.

Waste Of F'n Time And Money, except it probably cost 'em nuthin, so it's just a waste of Effort.

[edit]
I'll qualify that. The article itself is a waste of effort. What exactly have AI done for the Amiga? Not a whole lot, even if you count them "allowing" Hyperion to rewrite the OS in their spare time.
As for the DE thing, who really cares? By the time it's mature enough to actually produce anything, it'll be long surpassed.
I don't hold a lot of hope for the Amiga we know and love, and quite frankly I don't see why everyone kowtows the minute Bill or Fleecy deem throw us a bone.
