Hi,
I have had the Napalm CD for a couple of months now, and decided to install it this evening. I tried setting up the program using it's supplied program, but I can't use AHI because of something (can't remember, bad memory :-) but it said something about downloading an archive from their webpage, but I can't find it :-( I also tried Aminet but no luck there either... Anyone know where to fin it???
By the way, anyone tried copying all data to their harddrive, and make it run only from harddrive? I don't want finding the CD everytime I want to play the game for half an hour... Please tell me if you had any experience with this.

first of all...hello :D visit on irc soon plz :D
beyond that..yes u can copy all to hdd and assign cd name to where u placed napalm on hdd, BUT whats the point? ..the game has very good CDDA so u will have to play from cd anyway if u want music :D
anyway next... ahi .. its included on the cd , but i dont recall it was ahi, i might be wrong but i can always check further, i know it needs RTG master , for that download latest version on aminet (better) .
cheers

thankx,
I can't hear any music when I load the game, or during the game for that matter. I think it needs AHI for that, I don't know. I just made a search on the cd, and nothing pops up using the search para *ahi*, so no AHI on the cd :-(
If I can't get the music working then I don't see any reason for not installing it on hdd.
The graphics is no problem, I sorted that already, no problems there, but I'm going to download the latest rtg_master in a minute.

I don't recall hearing any music either
back when I played this game,
alltho I did have full support for mixing
cdda and amiga sound at that time.
(many years ago, when it came out)
But I would like to tell you
that I hated the explosion sound
incredibly much.
So much that I loaded the sound file
(that had all the sounds in it
one after the other),
into a sample program.
Then I lowered the volume of this sound effect
down to a minimum,
because altering the tops and bottoms
of the raw sound wave
wont make it incompatible with the game.
This made the game much much more comfortable for me to play,
and I wanted to upload this modified soundfile
to aminet,
but never decided to do it
and it was lost when I sold the game
and deleted everything after I completed it.
I say this now so that you know
what you can do if you get annoyed by a sound,
like I did.

@ doctorq,
Hi,
I couldn't get AHI to work on that game either, I think it's a bug. In audio setup use direct paula. please set device correcly in cd setup and all should work fine.

AHI doesnt work with it, it was never completed the last I heard. To ge the CDDA sound working you need a mixer of some type. I use a second soundcard on my A3000. You need to use the audia out plug on the back of the cdrom to go into the audio in plug on the soundcard/mixer. The ones inside, not the jacks on the outside of the cards. They are usualy 3 pins, black or white connector cables. Another way is to plug speakers into the headphone jack on the front of your cdrom if you have one.

Great, then I shouldn't have any problems when I'm going to install the game on my A4000! Sad to hear that the AHI thingy wasn't finished; I'd like to have the game installed with all sounds on my A1200Desktop :-(

i've lost u now docq :D ..
u can have both paula and music at same time ofcourse , u just need a sb128 or such so that u can mix cdda sound with amiga sound (paula).
i belived u had this....hmmz.
(if not...just make a cable with it , before i bought a prelude 1200 (years agO) i had to use amiga + cdda cables (homemade) all the time, sure its crap but it works, anyway best thing is a soundcard , hook up amiga sound to it and hookup cdda to it and into the amplifier and turn the volume up....whoohooo :D
If the game had used ahi (and was working etc, Music would still be seperated as CDDA ofcourse.)
anyway just played the game again today and the music is SOOOOO COOL! , it even beats the futuristic music of earth2140 :D
cheers

I have several Amigas, but I would like to install the game on all Amigas... I haven't got a soundcard, yet anyway, but I'm looking forward to getting my A4000 up and running and then run the game from that.
It would be cool if someone knew how to get the audio files onto harddisk, and make the program load them from there. OK, ripping the audio files is easy using MakeCD, but to make the computer use the raw files from hdd.

didn't they fix the AHI issue in v1.4 of the executable?
I'm running it fine with music and soundFX on my A1200?
