Title: archiving in Dopus4
Post by: lionstorm on October 03, 2003, 09:53:57 PM
Hi All,
Is there something like arcdir available for Dopus4 ? I know for Dopus5 but I am going back to WB instead of opus as WBR.

Yes, DOpus4 (at least the latest GPL-Version available from http://dopus.amiga.pl) supports the XAD library. This library is shareware, it is available from Aminet. A full version of XAD is included with OS3.9.

With the XAD.library installed, DOpus can browse through archives as if it were normal directories.

Why are you going back to WB?  I use DOpus M2 as a WB replacement and couldn't ever concieve of going back to WB by itself.  What's driven you to it?

Magellan 5.82 and OS3.9 are not fully compatible so no WBR anymore and running it on its own makes me switch between WB and Dopus (although I could chose default pubscreen in menu). I am also loosing my toolsdaemon menu if I run it in WBR mode. I had a few problems with magellan only when copying files between my pc-formatted zip drive and my amiga (looks like it was a max transfer problems).
Thats why I went back to version4, which I could run on WB in a window.
BTW does someone knows how to disable the internal viewer in dopus4 ? Double click on a readme file opens up a new screen or I would like to have everything on the same screen.
