That SETI@home is of to the Arecibo radio telescope today 18 March till the 20 2003 so that they can to re-observe the most promising "candidates" produced by our search so far.
There is a chance that these new observations will yield the first real evidence of extraterrestrial life.
As you are probably aware, the Amiga efforts for SETI@home are going strong and if you haven?t already join now is the time to do so.

Is there amiga client for s@h? or they just use x86/other to work for amiga glory? btw: imHo s@h is senseless. radio signal is far to slow to carry a msg from other galaxy. and even IF there will be sutch signal, it could travel here 1,000,000 years. So, our respond will take also "some time". Maybe g@h is better? :-)

No, there is no client for AOS since only a few thousand PPC accelerators were sold and 68K is just too damn slow. It's up to the individual to decide if doing Work Units is a waste of time or not. I find the whole field of distributive networking quiet interesting as is their BOINC project.

:-o No doubt, but there are already billions of stars, many of whom will have planetary systems, in our own galaxy.
Seti@home runs well under LinuxPPC on an AmigaOne (my A1G3SE does a unit in just over 15 hours) and there's no reason to doubt it'll run equally well on a Pegasos.
Once AOS is running on enough machines, I'm sure someone will port the CLI client at least.

Intelligent (and industrialised) life is probably so rare in this universe we could spend the next 5 billion years or so looking for radio messages and never find them. That's not to say we shouldn't look, of course. Just don't blame your governments for covering up information on little grey aliens when we find the universe is mostly dead. ;-)

Well, those at NASA that got into the spaceprogram because of the redneck minority special treatment belive that there are little green somethings at Mars. I´m sure it´s coming to earth to kidnap the cows and steal the oil! :lol:

I saw the Linux PPC (unknown) on the
Unix part of the SET@Home site. One
of the people in my users group just
received his A1G3SE, but we are all
pretty new to Linux. Would you like to
give us some pointers on the best way
to get the A1 configured for downloading
the work units and running the client?
