Title: Cache of Kitchen Syncs and SuperGen 2000's
Post by: bobal on March 12, 2003, 12:41:04 PM
I just received the following Email this morning. Please respond to the author and not to me.

Hi there,

I am in the process of clearing out an old manufacturing warehouse and I've located a brand-new palette of Kitchen Sync and SuperGen 2000's for the Amiga. These are brand-new, in the box, and shrink-wrapped (most of them.)

These came from the former warehouse of Progressive Image and should be factory new. There are also some regular SuperGen's available.

Please pass the word if any of these are of interest to the community.

Thanks,

Kitchen Sync? WTH :-). I presume a scandoubler or something and not a way of cooling your Amiga? =)

Used to synchronise the computer with a video signal, IIRC...

*sigh* oh for the days of amusingly named products :)

The Kitchen sync was an integrated 2 channel time base correcter and frame syncronizer.  It took an analog video signal from a vcr or video camera and allowed you to adjust the properties of the signal (brightness/color/timing...)
It has its own software on rom and it just used the isa slot (full size card)  for power.  It also had a remote control and breakout box for connections.
It was very easy to use with the video toaster. or any other analog piece of video equipment.

side note.  there was a special cable used to bridge 2 seperate cards together so you would have 4 timed video sources.
there was also a daughter card to enable the svideo out.
I think there was also another option that let you use external sync - I can't remember.
I used mine with the video toaster as 1 unit.
The breakout box will let you put svideo or composite in, but you can only get svideo out if you have the daughter card.

An update:
I would like to get $130 for the Kitchen Syncs, and $99 for the SuperGen
2000's. I have 4 regular Supergens that I'll sell for $79. This is including
shipping, but otherwise as-is, no warranty. I have now way to test these,
and don't want to spend the time doing so. Plus, most of them are unopened,
sealed box, and in most cases, the shrink wrap is still intact.

Thanks for posting the message for me!
