Interestingly enough, KDH has placed a release date on OS4.0 on their Web site. Click here (http://www.kdh-amiga-shop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=673&products_model=&osCsid=c7112769af27f2ae2d181d4ce5e73a08)

This is news?
-
Well, what is "news" anyway?
Seems that nothing short of the second coming would be "news" enough to be worth posting as "news" these days. And even then some dickhead would start ranting about how it's all a hoax from God himself to take business from the other religions. Come on, people, lighten up. :-)
On a side note, how do KDH now a release date for OS4 BlizzardPPC? Wild guess? That's my wild guess anyway...
-
well, before it was 28 february. Each time the date is reached, 3 months delay are added.
Would not call that news if you ask me...

KDH have been having "release" dates for OS4 for ages. When it gets
close to the date they put up, they add on another month or so. I
think this was disscussed a while ago on Amiga.org, and the general
opinion was that KDH have no insider information and are guessing
based on the facts that are slowly leaked out.
Tho if i am wrong someone correct me! :-)
-
Also, If you click the 'click to enlarge' link under the AOS4 logo, you get a window with the logo in the same size as the one you just 'clicked to enlarge' !! :-D
-
Looks like they're running sed on a cron job.

This product will be in stock on Thursday 01 May, 2003
:-D

And their link in "For more information, please visit this products webpage." is wrong.
Strange. I've seen KDH in Cologne 2 years ago and they didn't seem so stupid. I may be wrong...
-
well, have a look at the shop-page of kdh: :-o KDH-Shop (http://www.kdh-amiga-shop.com/catalog/default.php)
at the bottom there are the estimated release dates for some products. this information has been there since ages.
i asked kdh where they've got the information from... well, it is a mixture of sort-of-insider-information and guessing. nothing more.
byebye...
-
They should have said 4th of May instead.
(May the fourth be with you).
-
Mmm OS4 is cursed....
-
how the hell did this become moderated news? Its been known for a long time that most retailers keep putting release dates on their websites when infact they probably dont have a clue (though I have no proof of this, it is just my opinion)
-
Does HMetal know about this?
-
I remember commenting on this BS on ann.lu when it first came out. I correctly pointed out it was BS then, and it's BS now.
You may now kiss my ring...
-
Correction ... that should read:
This product will be in stock on Tuesday 01 April, 2003.
-
All good things come to those who wait. And wait. And wait. :-P
I could have asked for only one better birthday present: my long-awaited A1-G4. :-)

Well, I submited it cause it was news for me, and thought this stuff was moderated(and it is). And note that by the time I posted it, the news about OS4 not coming out yet had not come out so I saw it for the first time, and thought hey this could be great news...:-D

The bit that troubles me is the 'BlizzardPPC' mention. Does it mean that I will have to buy again the darn thing when I eventually switch from my BlizzardPPC to, say, an AmigaOne - or a CyberStormPPC, or a SharkPPC (laughs allowed here)?
That reasonably can't be, can it? Just *imagine* for a second buying MacOS X again for every piece of hardware you get that supposedly runs the OS. MacOS X for PowerMac, MacOS X for iMac, MacOS X for iBook, MacOS X for Titanium... A true nightmare, isn't it? Only Amiga makes it possible!
All of this is a bad dream, I'm sure going to wake up...
-
Hmetal knows about everything...
Or so it would appear.
