All Pegasos boards available at the $499 from Genesi and to regular distributors are SOLD OUT!*
The Developer boards ($299) are reserved, and will be available until 6 March 2003.
*Pegasos will be available from dealers shortly. So if you missed your chance for a direct order, your local dealer may have a Pegasos available.
-
well they did not make that many
-
Well.. next thing Genesi needs to do is deliver those boards, 300 was it?
And same goes to Eyetech, I assume thse Aone-XE.s are close?
BTW:: does anyone have number of Aones? they seem to been so scretive about their prouction/sales.
-
:-o
-
They sold out fast! 300+ for new orders, I think. I see a lot of developers getting them, and some user groups that are very active, and some demo scene talent. All in all, I'm pleased with the results : }
-
I want my Pegasos.. send send send!
-
Actually they havent sold 300 pegasos boards

Knoving that there would only be 300 for sale They can only have sold maybe 200 and promised the rest for dealers
-
Anyone reckon they'll be more Peggies "back due to popular demand" in
the near future or will those who missed out will have to wait for the
Pegasos 2.
-
Well, so much for the PC loving crowd thinking people will only want to buy cheap x86 hardware. (hehehe).

They produced 400/450, with 100-150 set aside for developers and 300 for general consumption.
Basically Genesi sold 3 an hour since monday.

Well, that just goes to show that when it comes to computers (as in most other things, so I'm not all that surprised) people are willing to pay a little bit more if they believe they're getting their money's worth. A $500 PC has more "horsepower" than a Pegasos, but obviously people are seeing beyond just performance figures. I think it's good that this is happening just as IBM is preparing to manufacture their 64bit PPCs, it won't be just rackmounts and Apples that benefit from those :-)
-
Yes, CodeSmith we are expecting that this new IBM PPC will fit just fine into our future plans. We have been confident of this potential for some time. When we think what might be possible we do get excited.
Hi Rob, like that avatar...;-) Glad you finally noticed!
Best regards,
