Title: Amiga History Article on ExtremeTech
Post by: Calen on January 23, 2003, 01:44:59 PM
ExtremeTech (http://extremetech.com/) have posted an article (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973,841217,00.asp)  outlaying the history of the Amiga and how it's the computing industry's least known companies. Also covers briefly Amiga Inc's future plans.

Not the most flattering of articles i have read in a mainstream website.

I think it is unfortunate that the author consistently spelled Larry Kaplan's name wrong ("Caplin").

Very good article.  I think he explained a lot of what made Amiga special in it it's time, it explaiend that Amiga is making a come back but also explained how it may be hard to market.

I like everyone else wants to see it succeed, but with very few apps, it's going to have a bit of trouble.  Right now the two selling points I see are: 1. Slim OS (we hope, if it comes out)  2. Alternative to PC/Mac

But without software and hardware support, people may turn around.  It's going to take a couple of years of strong effort to claim a market for the A1.
