It seems that Microsoft won´t settle with being market leader in the computing business, and is now aiming at the watches market.
Microsoft Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates announced yesterday at the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). These first "smart watches," to be created by international watchmakers Citizen, Fossil and Suunto, are built on Smart Personal Objects Technology (SPOT), a new technology platform designed to improve the functionality and usefulness of everyday objects.

If i want a watch with lots of features ill either wait for casio to release something or ill wait to see if ibm and citizens linux powerd watch comes out for the public but microsoft you can shove it who wants a blue screen of death on a watch this thing would crash just telling the time .

*shudder* :nervous:
I hope Suunto won't use any M$ stuff in their diving computers....wouldn't want to trust my life to that :-).
-
I'm surprised someone hasn't commented with the old chestnut "are they sure they can fit a BSOD message on a screen that small?". So I will.

I was reading something about this in the paper the other day. I was thinking "Cool" until I saw the "M" word. After that I was so disappointed. I would like a new watch, but it would have to have something cool to make me buy it. This type of thing would be cool. Stupid Microsoft will be selling SPOT toilet paper soon, a long with their line of SPOT water. Both would still support USB :-D
@Paul Gadd
That site would have to be one very unpopular site :-D

M$ delivers? LOL
The whole Sendo affair was mainly because M$ wasn't able to deliver a bugfree OS for a cellphone (18 months + delay).. And still buggy!

I initially read the last sentence as
"a new technology platform designed to improve the functionality and uselessness of everyday objects."
Then I re-read it and decided the first way was better.

1st Hawaiian: "Eh, Brah, what time stay?"
2nd Hawaiian: "Ah dunno.. my watch had change to one blue color?"
