The guys that do the Kolla Inc Solutions PCI adaptor have updated their webpage with the current status report on their PCI project. It has been a long time but now they have posted some news. It looks like it is worth the wait.
If you mised their information the first time around you can find it on their webpage along with pictures of their solution. Their President (Kolla, head honcho Kolla Inc Solutions) said "We ship solutions, not products!" -- You can find a index of their pictures along with project information here (http://www.meanmachine.ch/~vgr/kollaink/)

It seems VGR has OS4 related information. I've never checked that site regularly tho... There is still no working 2D(!) driver for ATI cards on [Sunday 05-Jan-03]???? AmigaONEs were bundled with ATI7000s by Eyetech, if I'm right. Hopefully the situation will be resolved soon.

This PCI solutions is very cool:

Light and cheap

Hmm, I think I can reverse engineer that ;-)
Anyway, if they *do* manage to produce anything, providing the price is ok, I'll consider it for my desktop A3000.
But then again, I wouldnt hold my breath...

Finally we found a use for all that waste paper :-). But this is not serious, is it?

The picture actually looks very similar to the pictures first posted for the Prometheus (did I spell that right?)
and who are Kolla anyway?
Regards,
CaptainFrank.

> for the Prometheus
Actually, I`ve just been and checked at matay.pl, and it looks nothing like the prometheus.
What was I thinking ?!?!?!?1 :-?
I`m sure I`ve seen those pictures before though. A long time ago in fact. And they still haven`t progressed any further that crude drawings on a piece of cardboard!

Are you sure you want to know? :-D

I'll consider it for my desktop A3000.
Actually, that's where I started; I wanted (and still do) a PCI solution for my A3000.
The entire point of this... uhm.. scam.. was to point out that one can piggy-back a PCI bus card on the ISA-slots, and then either have an "arm" over to one of the zorro slots (or a cable to the PCI interface of the CSPPC) and still have room to insert both zorro and PCI cards. The discussion came to a point where I just figured it would be better to describe what I meant through pictures :)
The brilliance of it is that it in theory would physically fit any amiga model with ISA/Zorro cards. Especially the A3000 is difficult, since you cannot easily replace the riser (the daughterboard) as it contains critical parts, unlike what is the case with an A4000.
Anyways, companies like elbox, matay, dce and whoever are free to copy the ideas from Kolla Inc (or Ink, for pun sake) and put them to reality as much as they like, for free (the beer, sex and speach kind). We (me, I and myself) ship solutions, not products ;-)
Oh, latest rumours are about some really really cheap T-shirts..!

You had me fooled for a second :-).
-
So this is what it takes to have your "news" posted? A fake PCI slot made out of paper.
-
Oh do come on...lighten up dude.
-
I have as good a sense of humor as the next person, but this is not news, and as such belongs in the forums.
