Amiga have posted a small item about the delayed T-shirts on their site.
Amiga Inc. would like to apologise unreservedly for the delay in getting the T-shirts out. We have received all the orders from the dealers and no blame should be attached to the dealers for the delay. There are several reasons for the delay and we are working on trying to get these remedied as quickly as possible. We hope to have everything sorted out in the next few weeks.

At least they are taking the blame for it....

That's good.

It's minus 7 degrees here. Make mine a sweater please. :-)
Anyway, nice to see some statement from Amiga about this.

It's -35 degrees in here.. :-( Can't even get outside because my face gets frozen in 5 minutes..

But I love the cold weather.
Me too, but it's been like this for a week and it's really starting to bug me now..

T-Shirt vendor webring (http://b.webring.com/hub?ring=tees)
>Sorted out in few weeks.
I hope few weeks IS NOT 52 weeks! :-)
I hope they will choose a good, bona fide T-Shirt vendor, and NOT use other excuses: "We had paid for the T-Shirt, but the vendor run away with our money!"
-
Finally a piece of news about it. Good.
-
At least we`ve got a bit of news, worst thing about all this is all the silence surrounding it.

It would be nice if the T-shirt turned into a nice "golf" knit shirt (http://www.extremeamiga.com/images/apparel/shirtslg.jpg) while waiting.... But I'm sure that is asking too much.
I would even settle for one of these (http://www.amiga.com/images/amigamall/userscapssm.jpg) as I'm more likely to wear a cap than a T-shirt.
-
Well. let's hope it's a start of better for AmigaInc ...
Less hype and empty promices and bit more deliveries on time would really do them good.

@coder
I like the cold too. If it is too cold then you can put more cloths on, but you can only take so much off when it is hot!
-
@JoannaK
Agreed.
I sent a mail the other day asking why the holdup, guess I wasn`t the only one! ;-)
-
Quite cold and very frosty here today also...which is nice :-)
All we need is snow ;-)

arrrggghhh! no hold-ups please !
dont wanna look all Rocky Horror now, do we ?! :-o :-D
not to mention the draft around my....

First of all, i cannot understand why its so difficult to get '1136' T-Shirts out.
My copyshop could do that within hours and the logo is already there for a
while now.
But ok, there seem to be "several reasons", which is a fine excuse :-P
On the other hand i think, it's more important to announce, how to handle
those 50$-Club (as well as 100$-PartyPack) Coupons .
I think this is far more important for those ppl then to be sure they'll get their
promised T-Shirts the "next few weeks".
Just my personal opinion.
-
@logain
Wasn`t there some f&&k-up with the first logo? IIRC I think Team Amiga protested.
Did they ever pick another one?
Yes, the $50 & $100 partypack coupons are more important than a T-shirt but it is a part of the deal and hopefully this will be adressed also.

@L8-X
"Wasn`t there some f&&k-up with the first logo? IIRC I think Team Amiga protested. Did they ever pick another one?"
It wasn't the logo design, it was the name 'Team Amiga' that was the issue. When we submitted the name and design (the avatar is taken from this) we also created a 'Club Amiga' version so this was not the holdup.
There has since been some discussion with Amiga about creating a design that was more 'Club Med' inspired but it hasn't been formalized.
Our own thinking is that the Amiga platform is already a confusing oddity to most people, so tropical resorts are not the first thing we want to be associated with. The t-shirts are obviously a form of advertising and one that people should be able to readily identify with. However, if you think more of a beach theme is appropriate let us know. ;-)

@ne_one
So the new name is "Club Amiga"?
Mmm, nope I prefer the more easily associated with amiga form, erm I don`t qualify for club 18-30 anymore! ;-)
-
I think they have done a wonderfull job knitting all those T-shirts by hand, that is the reason for the massive delay :-D

@ne_one:
A beach theme??? Puh-lease, wtf does that have to do with Amiga? Do we get a free holiday to Mururoa with each A1? ;-)
-
Hmm
I wonder what they are doing to verify peoples details.
The coupon was some time ago and some peoples details would be different from their original ordering details...
I for one have "moved house" and would be ####ty if the x-girlfriend's new boyfriend scores a new "amiga t-shirt".
Regards
Darren

Have you tried to contact Amiga Inc? Gives you a good excuse to test the phonelines :-D.
-
I agree.
I am always amazed how the answer to a broken promise around here is another promise. Not t-shirts in the mail, just a promise to do what they already promised to do.
This is quite amazing...the first promise was enough of a promise, now they need to just do it..
-
I just can't believe we're congratulating Amiga Inc for *finally* *releasing* *something* :oops: Yoohoo, we've waited ten years for a T-shirt! :angry:
-
Sorted out in a few weeks?? Here, give me the money, I'll take it down to T-Shirts Plus and they can knock 'em all out by tomorrow. Give me the data base and I'll ship 'em out, too. (hmm. To whom could I sell the Amiga.com database for a few extra?? Honey, we'll be getting that new car after all!)
-
Heeee I can't believe the latest Vapour Ware from Amiga is a T-Shirt, geez if they can't release a simple piece of clothing what hope do they have of anything else.
