So, when you (me) use KaZaA our IP's are being recorded?

Bloody nice to have a dynamic IP aint it !!

That makes no difference ...

The only dynamic about it is the last number. And providers keep track of that ...

HOSTS file, copy this to your C:\windows\

Basically a request for an IP is made, the IP is listed and redirected within the host file list to IE: localhost, request for IP fails...

Kazaa is riddled with spyware, try 'Kazaa lite' or WinMX [no spyware].

Do with this information as you please, don't start bitching at me for supporting piracy either.

Ciao, moi amico,

What they did was: Going on kazaa themself, checking peoples sharing list then they press print screen....

Call the ISP demand to get the name of the user, then send the user a bill on 10000$...

Really lame isnt it?? ISPs shouldnt give out such private information... And guess what?? Those who got caught was poor students, which didnt make any profit on this. But those BIG companys which sell warez/music for high profit, they go free...

World is sick.

!!%"*&ČĆ*/%Ž/$Đ%?

This is f. unbeliveable!!! This is so stupid!!!

How the hell can they tell whether the files ppl were sharing were actually what their names implied. I could have a 700mb text file named starwars2dvdrip.avi to share on kazza. If this goes through the court then I guess something is really rotten in the land of Denmark.

Is this fact? If that is the case, then what about all the people who use the nick 'kazaaliteuser' (there must be thousands, since it's the default nick in kazaalite - and why change it)?

Consider THESE FIVE theoretical crimes:

(a) YOU break & enter a stranger's home, nick his Audio CD collection and take it home for your own use!

(b) Someone else enters a stranger's home, nicks his Audio CD collection, sells (or gives it) to you and you take it home for your own use!

(c) YOU break & enter a stranger's home, bundle-up his Audio CD collection and take it home where you copy it all for your own use. You then go back another night and put his entire Audio CD collection back.

(d) Someone else enters a stranger's home, bundles-up his Audio CD collection and takes it home where he copies it all. He then goes back another night and puts the stranger's entire Audio CD collection back. He sells (or gives) the copies to you and you take it all home for your own use!

(e) A stranger copies his Audio CD collection, sells (or gives) the copies to you and you take the copies home for your own use!

.........................

Maybe each successive example might seem LESS of a crime but EACH example, if carried out, entails a risk of criminal prosecution.

a - Break & enter, theft and possession of stolen goods.

b - (YOU) Receiving and possession of stolen goods.

c - Break & enter, theft. Possession of copyrighted material for which the copyright holder has not been paid.

d - (YOU) Possession of copyrighted material for which the copyright holder has not been paid.

e - (YOU) Possession of copyrighted material for which the copyright holder has not been paid.

ALSO, even where it was not YOU doing the break & enter YOU COULD be charged with being an accessory to the crime!

Here is what they do:

1. They join eDonkey or Kazaa or whatever and share the latest warez...

2. People will start downloading from them.

3. (This is specifik for eDonkey) They rightclick on users names and add them to friends.

4. Display list of files this user shares, and then they have what they need. Users IP-number and a list of files they share. And yes, this is all they need under danish civilianlaw, because AFAIK under danish civilianlaw you are guilty until the judge is convinced otherwise.

There is a minor fix though: www.emule-project.net (http://www.emule-project.net) This is an eDonkey client that won't reply to a request to send your filelist to another user.
