Here's Bill McEwen's latest update regarding the status of Amiga Inc.

Well, that should buy Amiga a bit of time from the trolls, although it'll be interesting to see where they are moving to.
For those of you outside the UK, Orange are a big mobile (cell) phone company. Getting AmigaDE (gamepaks) onto two of the top three UK mobile telco's is pretty cool, providing it is pushed.
It's still a limited market though, as these type of phones are typically high end models, with prices to suit.
There will be some announcements coming in the next couple of weeks from third parties who are now creating versions of their software for OS 4.0 and I have agreed not to steal their thunder but will have them make their own announcements first and then we will carry them on our site after they have made them.
OS4 PPC native software? I trying to think of any currently supported commercial apps.
Outside of Imagine, ImageFX and MakeCD, I cannot recall any others. Unless the fabled Real3D materializes...........

That's what will be the real kicker....hearing what companies have some PPC OS4 apps ready. I wish they would come on out with their own thunder and at least let us know what is in the works. And will it be apparent to us that these were the ones Bill alluded to, as bringing new OS4 apps to market? Big names? Small names? I guess we have another wait for this part to become known.

It suggests something better than average. If it was only average, it'd not be worth a mention.
I'm really hoping it's this (http://www.matrox.com/video/products/rtx10/home.cfm)

Hey! That *would* be a nice surprise. It would definitely get the Amiga back into the swing of things again.
I kinda feel like it will be something "bigger" and unexpected too. That's the impression I got. But we will see soon, I guess.

I think this is excellent news, and I eagerly anticipate the fulfillment; but you know, this morning I got an email. The email was from Amiga Inc. announcing the update to the club members. It said that we were being told 12 hours before the general public would be told. Less than two hours later I log on here to find this already posted. This could be the result of either excitement or a lack of respect. Either way I think Wayne should have waited. It doesn't matter whether others had already violated those 12 hours or not. You are responsible for your own actions, not theirs. I think you should have waited.
That said, this is excellent news. I did, however note what I think is a discrepancy. Is the proper memory type registered PC133 or registered PC233(on the Amiga site)?

@ Billsey,
Don't single Wayne out! Any of the moderators could have posted the news.... Wayne is not the only person capable of doing it.

flaming, flaming and some more flaming...
sigh we are getting worse than ann.lu...

Well, it doens't matter much now, the word is out. Enjoy reading the executive update and of course the latest news coming from the WOASE show soon.
The idea was to give club members early access to information. This just shows that Amiga Inc might need to rethink how this will be handled in the near future.
Bottom line - Amiga Inc is alive and kicking. :-D

@Billsey
This is the 'news' section, where 'news' are posted once found.
You can't really blame anyone for wanting to know (and trying hard to find out) about what's going on after the recent commotion (or lack thereof) surrounding Amiga Inc.
And you certainly can't expect Wayne to care much about AI's secrecy plans, judging from his opinion in recent discussions.
I'm just glad he didn't decide to keep us in the dark about it (well, someone else would have posted it anyway, but ...) given that he is not so fond of the whole PPC thing (at least that's my impression - forgive me if it's wrong) :-D
All that aside, the suspense is starting to eat me up -
I WAN'T AN AMIGAONE *WITH* OS4 NOW!!! :-D :-D

No attacks here on Billsey people!!!! He is giving a party and paying for the beer! Think again! :-)

Oops
I'll just shut up then :pint:

Just to get the conversation unto some more
interesting stuff than the delay of the announcment
I repost what I said in a thread. Feel free to comment
(like I really had to say that!) ;-)
-------
Personally I didn't remember them splitting their
efforts into two separare units, but then again, its
been a long time sinve I read the last update
Makes sene anyway.
It is a little annoying that the "heavy hitters" aren't
announced by name. Will this come up at the show
perhaps? Equally so with the other names not yet
mentioned. Bill should really learn his lesson and
not announce announcments. It has burned him
several times already.
The phone rumors were apparently true, albeit not
having anything to do with AInc closing down as so
eagerly prophesized (I wish I had the time to look up
those "informed" posters, so I could run it down their
throats. We should set up a black list of those guys.)
AOS4 is nearly complete - what we all knew, but first
now have some sort of official statement on.
Personally I'll focus on what Ben has to say at the
show - shouldn't anyone be reporting from that soon?
Amiga DE seems to at least make moderate
progress. I like it that they keep at it. I would really
like to hear a little more day-to-day news in this
area, but then again I suppose it would be mostly
of developer interest as of yet.
The SmartPhone packs is a novelty. Don't know
much of the SmartPhone (don't even have a
cellphone), but content is always a good thing,
Let's hope now that Amiga Inc:s relocation and
"transition into a delivering company" will upgrade
their PR relations as well... They are going to need it.

Come on guys and gals .... this should be a happy time. Let's not spoil it with petty bickering.
At last Amiga Inc. has posted some news on their web site. It may not be enough news, but it is news none the less. :-D
And I also received a confirmation note ...
"Greetings Amiga Club Member ..."
It feels kind of nice :-D

Oh .. ok. Yes, that other one was a bit harsh.

Ummm. When news is posted to us, we post it. I do not receive said newsletter from theBillandFleecyshow, Inc. As such, how was *I* supposed to know there was any sort of moronic moritorium on posting the news?
Remember, I no longer meet their qualifications of "blind and blond cheerleader", so I am not privy to information on such stupid decisions on their part.

:-( While I have received no such e-mail, nor any acknowledgment whatsoever regarding my membership. The US post Office has confirmed that Amiga, Inc. cashed my money order months ago, but there has been no confirmation from Amiga themselves. Sigh.

Only PocketPC? I sure hope that they are going to support other platforms soon ( PalmOS )...
Other than that, good news!
