Ladies and Gentlemen, we are very proud to announce that this year's World of Amiga Southeast show is not only going to be the finest ever, but also the most feature packed.
We have patiently waited for the go ahead to announce one more attendee, subject to confirmation. We are now able to do so, but first we would like to recap on what is already happening.
* Amiga - Announcements/AOS4.0
* Eyetech - AmigaOne
* Thendic France/Bplan - Pegasos/Morphos
* Quake II/Software Tycoon/Tales of Tamar (Buy and Demonstrated)
Other Exhibitors.
* Fore-Matt Home Computing.
* Kicksoft
* Weird Science
* 100% Amiga Magazine
* The Crypt
* Total Amiga Magazine
* ZeoNeo
* Mediator Support Team
Usergroups:
* Amiga North Thames.
* Amiga Support Association.
* Blackpool Amiga Club.
* Huddersfield Amiga Usergroup.
* and of course, South East Amiga Link.
Presentations.
* Amiga One Presentation.
* Amiga Announcement.
* OS4 Presentation.
* After Show Q&A Session
Now, we are proud to announce that the last attendees will be Hyperion-Entertainment.
Yes, you read that right, the Hyperion Team are flying over from Germany to the UK not only to ensure you get your copies of Quake II, (very special delivery) but Ben Harmans will personally host the OS4
presentation with support from the rest of the Hyperion Team.
World of Amiga Southeast 2002. Dare you be anywhere else?
More on the Q&A Session and Presentation/Announcements running order tomorrow. Please note, Doors open 12 noon sharp. No earlier.

This should be interesting...
-
:-D :-D OS4 Presentation :-D :-D
-
Terrahawks! This is an emergency! Come to my channel!
:-D :-D :-D
-
AMENDMENT
* Cloanto are also attending.
It's South Essex Amiga Link not South East Amiga Link
Sorry everyone.
-
Well, it's definately an "out of the frying pan, into the fire" moment.
I just hope people can back off a bit and give everyone a break. Expectations were already high and the announcement that Hyperion are going to be there is going to turn the heat right up!
Sorry to sound negative, but don't be disappointed if you're not walking away with a
A1G3SE +
Radeon 9700PRO +
SB Live! +
ETC,ETC +
OS4.0
If it does happen, then it'll be a huge shock. I expect Ben Hermans to have something up his sleeve (and not just a few dozen copies of Quake II either!), but there will be a lot of hat-eating if it's OS4 running on the A1G3SE.
Still, I'm confident that many (most?) will be confident that we're really close to the OS4 release.

when will this show be? and will there be webcam and audio broadcasts?
-
* Amiga One Presentation.
* Amiga Announcement.
* OS4 Presentation.
Its like the kinder surprise :-D
there will be a lot of hat-eating if it's OS4 running on the A1G3SE.
Actually I dont care which platform it is going to be demonstrated from. The mere news of aOS almost (perhaps, maybe) being finished is enough to keep me glued to the screen on saturday.
-
Saturday 2nd November 12.00 (mid day).
Due to costs, no live broadcasts are available. However, expect the usual MP3 + MPEG's to be posted the following day.
Hopefully, a few who live locally will be able to provide 'quick and dirty' posts, regarding events and announcements, as appetizers to those who cannot attend.

Interesting? As understatements go, this probably ranks right up there with "Mount Everest is a bit pointy", or "The Atlantic Ocean is a bit wet" ;-)
The really annoying thing is that I already have plans for this weekend I can't possibly get out of, otherwise I'd be down there like a shot.
If only to be in the audience when whatever happens does happen... ;-)

Sadly there will be no Webcasts of any sort from WOASE this Saturday.
- See my post
http://amiga.org/forums/viewtopic.php?topic_id=3843&forum=1&start=20&viewmode=flat&order=0 for a full explanation.
The last bits of Announcement will be completed by 17:00 GMT.
- This means that it will most likely be around 18:30 GMT before any
news is unvieled.

Perfect. I get of from work around 17. Home around 17.30. Something to eat. Watching some tv. 18.30 :-) :-) :-) AND THEN BEERXTRAVAGANZA... Already seems like the perfect saturday for me.
People are going to find me sunday morning with my butt frozen to a bench in copenhagen smiling, smelling of beer and vodka, mumbling nonsense with the word amiga popping up quite often :-P
-
What about an IRC channel? Not available as well?

:roflmao:

@Desler
18:30 GMT. That probably means 19:30 in Copenhagen, no?
-
What about an IRC channel? Not available as well?
No, there won't be any net access. It's not a bandwidth thing, just a matter of free lines. What there is will be used by vendors for credit card checking etc.
-
:-D :-D :-D
All the guys in England who'll attend The Show, PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE report to the rest of us (like me, in Israel) who are a bit too far away to be there...
If you can, put on some MPG, MP3 or something.
It's been such a long wait.
The Amiga One Forum (At http://os.amiga.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=8)
is probably the best place to place information.
ThanX!
If I'd have known the AmigaOne *AND* OS4 will be there, I'd buy a plain ticket, but it's too late for that now.
WOW.
Yesterday Macabbi Haifa beat M. United 3:0, and now THIS...
I've got to make a few phone calls, tell some friends of mine that I can now PROVE that there IS a God :-)
-
> No, there won't be any net access. It's not a bandwidth thing, just a matter of free lines. What there is will be used by vendors for credit card checking etc.
Perhaps Amiga Inc. could sponsor an extra phone line for the day? ;-)
Sorry, guys, couldn't resist...
-
@Papissmed
Me and a mate will be doing a report about it ;-)
-
This weekend is sounding better every second. I was glad to hear that there was somebody from Israel
on here. Its good that we have representatives in most countries. Its just a shame we can`t arrange
some kind of huge conference with the lot of us in one place. I will be there with (hopefully) a huge
grin on my face. I won`t on the other hand be on here until the Wednesday after it all.
-
'Well, it's definately an "out of the frying pan, into the fire" moment.

Yes, I am not putting a lot into all this yet. I think we will heard about OS. but again I do not believe it will be DONE. And again, so what if it is not DONE. I am glad that there is something that will be shown and reported on. Things are getting closer, YEA!!!! That is the great news is

Yap, we're all over the place.
I'm a proud Amiga owner since 1988.
I know a lot of Israelis who had Amigas MUCH earlier then me (starting with A1000).

Hiyas ppl
Well as long as my digital camera holds out + I don't infringe anyone's copyright etc then there should be some show pics up online on Sun morning.
I'll stick them on my own server at:
http://www.ethicalwebsites.co.uk/woase2002/
cyas at the show!

I wish that people would just shut up too. If they don`t it will start to effect things. They need
to be given confidence. Imagine somebody saying "your rubbish" to you all of the time. Eventually you
would start to believe it.
-
@papissmed
Cool. Good to hear.
-
When you get all your audo and/or video online, post the location on AO (duh) and/or page mail me. I'd like to provide a mirror for the content. If it's even a tiny bit as interesting as it looks or some people seem to think it will be then your server will get swamped.
Just thought it might be nice to work out some mirrors ahead of time.

If I'd have known the AmigaOne *AND* OS4 will be there, I'd buy a plain ticket, but it's too late for that now.
That doesn't mean one will have something to do with the other.

18:30 GMT. That probably means 19:30 in Copenhagen, no?
Yes :-D
And also in Højer, and I think Dresler is from Roskilde ;-)
-
Dare i say it but, i originaly thought that OS4 meant OS4 Components, but for the Hyperion Team to be coming down and demonstrating this, it must be a bit better then just, OS4 Components. That is, im a little more optomistic about a demonstration of a running OS4 (that is, ExeSG and the rest of the goodies).
Of course, we're not going to see it on A1, at least im not expecting too. It'll be on a classic Amiga, but it might be OS4 this time instead of OS3.x with some OS4 components slaped in!!!
-

Well, you can bet that people will then say "it just OS3.9 (68K exec) with OS4 components"...

I think that too. Anyway, some people are never satisfied.

@Coder,
Yeah.. I suppose I should get used to that kind of stuff... Luckily I am used to it ;-)
Ah well, only a few more nights sleep... again sigh... (Must admit that it does sound like we're going in circles. Every 3 months orso a big announcement, people go HURAH!, then everybody (well lots of people anyway) falls into a dark abyss and look at the negative aspects.. Then we hear about another big rumor and at the same time another big announcement..)..
But as long as I'm alive, I'll keep following Amiga news..
-
And also in Højer, and I think Dresler is from Roskilde
Nahh. Almost in between. I study in both roskilde and copenhagen. And please not any r in Desler. My phonecompany insists that my name is Dresler for 8 years now. Kinda annoying. Plain old Desler
-
Undskyld, det var lige en taste-/læsefejl ;-)
-
Then would it maybe be better to call you Claus???
I love De Gule Sider :-D
-
Nah... they'll just pretend they never said a word and find another reason to demonstrate their childish attitudes.
Uhmm... *stomp* *stomp* *stomp* ;-)
-
Cheer up, Rodney, at least we're living in Oz. Since we are now 11 hrs ahead of GMT, we'll get the news 11 hours before the Poms do :-D

Im not sad. I just hope it is OS4.
I dosent worry me if it isnt on the A1, infact, i believe it wont be. Not yet anyway. That doesnt bother me. Infact nothing bothers me :) I just hope we can see ExecSG running, thats all. Because when thats demoable, the rest of the system ant too far away.
When i say ExecSG, thats just another way of saying OS4. That is, not OS4 components. But if OS4 components are shown and not ExecSG, then i guess ill just be waiting longer. that doesnt bother me either :).
Oz rocks :) cept for the rain we arnt having. Heard on the radio today (and we've had rain this month) that we only 9mm of rain. We normaly have 80 or so. Which is a HUGE drop. Come to think of it, we havnt had any decent stroms :(.
-
@Desler & Hnl_dk
Cool, I am from Valby, are you members of FUP?
Or not members of any Amiga user group in DK?
Cheers
Juzz :-P
-
Then would it maybe be better to call you Claus???
Busted Franke :-)
@Juzz

-
So tonyw and Rodney, they make announcements at WOASE on Saturday and three days later OUR nation stops! :-D

Don't get too excited *grin* the "content" on my server will be a load of JPEGs and that's about it as I've not got a videocamera, only a stills-digital camera. Still, hope to get some nice shots!

@ Juzz
Sorry, but I have never heard about any Amiga User group near Højer (Syd-Vest-Sønderjylland) :-(
-
Everyone psyced for this weekend?
I know, I can't wait for the Microsoft judgement/opions either. :-)
