Byte Magazine (http://www.byte.com/documents/s=7572/byt1030741630741/0903_nicholls.html)
With all the publicity that Windows and Linux get, you may be forgiven for not being aware of a number of other operating systems. Yet there are many other choices that I find interesting and as useful alternatives.

Amiga, the phoenix of operating systems
It sound's quite nice that don't it. Ayway it's quite a good article and it's certanly not against Amiga (Provides some good facts for the uninitiated). If only all articles could have a postive attitude like this!

No comment needed:
Unlike many technology companies, Amiga has held back on preannouncing specifics, but remain committed to delivering promised products when they are ready. It's a refreshingly novel approach.

Kronos:
I think he forgot a whole bunch of smileys when he wrote that. :) After all he's basing the whole "Amiga" bit of his article on "pre-announced specifics" as well as the vague hints about a maybe-possible "AmigaOS 5".
Well, the "classic" AmigaOS and Amigas were given much attention too, but the article was about "Possible Desktop Alternatives" to Windows and Linux...

@Byte Magazine
What about SUN’s Solaris 9 for x86?

What I found disappointing about this column was that the author failed to mention that running Amiga OS4 will require PPC hardware (although he did say the original Amiga used "custom hardware"). Every other "alternative" discussed was for x86, with the stated goal of running as many OS's on ONE MACHINE as possible. Amiga OS4 is NOT an alternative in this sense.
