Got this in the Email bin today. Pagestream folks are asking what platforms they should develope for; one of the options is the new Amiga OS.
IMHO this is one of the best DTP programs available bar none.
They are now Grasshopper instead of Soft-Logik. Also they offer credit to users of version 1.2/2.1 for the upgrade.
Let your voice be heard or at least read. (http://www.grasshopperllc.com/)

I like the first radio button option on part 4 of their survey page. :-D
-
yeah, that would be most of the votes.
-
I am prepaired to spend money supporting my new AmigaOne so I selected the "bottom" radio button.
I probably should have checked how much it's going to cost me first ;-)
What the hell, compaired to the multiple $A 1000's the AmigaOne is going to cost me, a little "third party" producat support is triavial .
Hell If the applications good I may even use it.
P.S. What is pagestream used for ???

Answered my own question

Desktop publishing...
Way cool, I would have been looking for software to do this anyway. Damn glad I've ordered now.

Somehow I don't think they will get realistic results this way ...

Somehow I don't think they will get realistic results this way ...
Well, duh!
-
Be much more realistic if they used an online petition...
-
They are much more realistic than first appears.
They seem to be aware of the "petition stuffing/survey stuffing" activities of this community so they are only counting people who are prepaired to put their money where there mouth is (So far I think I am the only one)
If you are not prepaired to purchase the product, don't complain if it's not developed.
If you are prepaired to purchase, go to the web site and be counted.
My $.02 worth

Money put where mouth is. Oh and it was irony in my
previous contribution to this comment list.

I too hadnt realised how much it cost !
but I would like to see something like this on the A1/OS4, so I went for the more tentative (but more positive) 2nd option.
£200 is a lot of money especially considering I dont do a lot of DTP ! (actually none)
but DTP is a groovy thing, perhaps I could get into it, and besides, it has a lot going for it !
I did add a comment to that effect, wondering if they might do a cheaper more limited SE edition ?! :-)
/edit: YAYY ! Jims a technoid !! :-D :pint:
i feel that reflects my attitude and aptidude more accurately, although too much caffeine is often true !

Pagestream was one of the programs that made me buy an Amiga back in the day. I feel the future Amiga PPC market would be worthy of development and companies that cut their teeth on the classic Amiga should jump on the band waggon ;-)
My text in the extra info box ;-)

I only had an limited magazine version of 2.2, but 3.0 always seemed a total blast to me. I SO wish I could justify spending 300$ on this, but I can't, yet. I mean, I'm an engineer, not a type-setter :-P
Not ruling it out, though. But they have a pretty steep pricing. :-(
