one small additional info :
users of mozilla can use the built in chatzilla, which works pretty nice.

This should attract some more people to the channel. :-)

Hi
I use RedHat 7.3 + binary RPM, but the only response I got is: "Illegal Instruction .. xchat ".
I try several times with similar result.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

Is is possible to use MIRC + Wine?

Hi
I managed to run Xchat by re-compiling the whole source code. Apparently there is a problem with libperl.
Unfortunately I cann't find any specification / address of WEBNET, only AMIGANET (4 US, UK...)
Any idea how to setup WEBNET address, port etc?
Is there any scheduled  time on chat session with Bill McEwen, Gary Peake, Ben Herman, Alan R. etc?

That would be great. But that will be hard to arrange. But you can talk to Elektro! What more do you want? :-D

Webchat Information (http://www.webchat.org)

Hi
I found the webnet server:

Address: irc.webchat.org
Port: 6668, 6669, 7000

Linux xchat instruction:
1. Create new group with name: Webnet.
2. Create new server with name: Webnet.
3. Enter the address and port number.

Why are Windows users directed to the mIRC website? There's a perfectly good xchat Windows client on http://xchat.org that's a helluva lot better to use than mIRC.

Cache Ya,
 Craig.

Why are users so nit-picky about every little detail on this site?   Does it really matter which client we tell beginning PC IRC users to use?

Only that mIRC is advertware and is gunna get in a new user's face pretty quick. xchat on the other hand, is extremely simple to use straight outta the box.
