A third collection of patches, drivers and utilities for Amithlon 1.0.1 is now available at Bernd Meyer's Amithlon updates (http://www.amithlon.net/en/amithlon_updates.shtml) site.
"This collection brings a new video driver, a new serial driver, a few handy small utilities, and some minor patches to Amithlon 1.0.1. Please see the respective REAMDE files for more details."
Most notable are the new graphics and serial drivers as well as some new patches, one of which should prepare the way for the release of some new software recently demonstrated at the Melbourne Amiga Users Group meeting.

And this can be released? Are there no legal issues about this? I just wonder. Anyone got some more info about this?

The (new) kernels are under GPL, and everybody (including Bernie) can
do with them what he likes (as long as he sticks to the GPL-rules).
The patces are the reason why Harald/H&P called Bernie a "pirate"
a few months ago ....
Do I care ? No !!
If the dual-head setup works as Bernie told me, I'm finally gone
have the Amithlon that I wanted last year (/me crosses fingers).

The only issues around the updates are due to H&P's claim that they cannot be responsible for any issues arising from applying Bernie's updates. To this end the updates contain a legal disclaimer and other legalese stuff in the readme files.
No third party IP is included in these updates, and the sources to anything released under the GPL are included.
It's good to see that the users who have bought this product in good faith are not being forgotten or made to pay for the actions of others.
I believe this release prepares the way for something more to come soon.
:-P

Can Bernie not release an update for wich we have to pay? Offcourse it is Amithlon 2 but named as an update. :-D

Bernie said he would back-port what he can to Amithlon 1.0.1, so in effect he's just keeping his word despite the delays with the new version.
The features added to 1.0.1 in this update were ready for the demo over a month ago, but existing users can now get some of the benefits too.

I want Amithlon2 darnit!
