Title: How To Customize Your PC Case & Achieve Professional Results
Post by: redrumloa on July 29, 2002, 11:10:04 PM
Tom's Hardware (http://www6.tomshardware.com/howto/02q3/020724/index.html) has an excellent article on custom case modification. The information could be useful for any type of case PC, Amiga or other.

If you really want a personal case I would take a look at  this site (http://www.hesbynett.no/hagen/stage1.html)
I would love to personalise my case but its quite new and expensive, Still I am thinking of putting a window in it, And maybe a UV light right next to my kickstart  :-o

Take an ugly (midi-)tower, put some paint and a few "little-girl-add-ons"
on it, and what do you get ?

An extremly ugly painted (midi-)tower  :-P

@jumpship

The "A1 CASE" Image-link on the startpage doesn't work, but I still
found it  :-D

Here is my review:

A ugly painted midi-tower with a somewhat cool window
(sorry but thats how I see it, and I would still prefer a normal case)

But don't worry I also got two project for my next "Freundin"
(Pegasos or Mini-ATX-x86 + Amithlon)
One is a REALLY good looking Mikro-tower that wouldn't need
extra work (atleast not much of it)

The other one would need really lots of work, but the idea has been
burning me for years now, and I even got some of the neeeded
parts a few months ago  :-D

Urrrk!!

Those were horrible, aaaaargh my eyes hurt...  :-x
I generally like cases that are umodified, but a window, extra fans and lighting could be nice i guess. But the boing ball is the most important part tough... :-)

@Kronos

Eeek! Ok link working now!

The only part of the tower that has been painted is the read strip on the front. Just out of interest what is it you don't like? I have to admit that the four 5.25" bays look a little too much (Makes it appear taller then it is).

If anyone is interested in a window for thier case (be it Amiga or PC) then Glowire (http://www.glowire.com) are very good as they etch the image into the plastic rather then put a smoked sticker on. They also sell "Lazer LEDs" which is what I used to make the whole thing light up.

@ Jumpship

Out of curiosity I clicked on the link. You may just have provided one of my friends with a breakthrough in finding an off the shelf material that.....

Well I cant say - but its low current, flexability, consistent luminance - over such a long distance....

Dude, I cant say - I'm not allowed. But you really have no idea how helpfull this link could be - not for me, but for a friend. It has all the qualities that he requires for what he's doing..... It 11.00pm, but I'm gonna phone him up anyway. This is cool.

 :-)  Thanks...

I still think the  Caffiene Machine (http://www.pimprig.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=72) is the best Case Mod I have seen so far.
 Very Practical and original.

Beware slow loading page !
