Title: Assembly '02 invitation intro for Amiga
Post by: jtsiren on July 27, 2002, 10:05:57 PM
Assembly '02, the largest demoscene event, is held on August 1st - 4th in Helsinki, Finland. The multiplatform invitation intro, including Amiga and C64 versions, is now available (http://www.assembly.org/content/event/invtro.html). Amiga will be part of the event as usual. Last year Intuition's creator, RJ Mical, presented the prize for the Amiga demo Lapsuus that won the combined PC/Amiga competition. For 24h coverage of the event, see MBnet a'wake (http://www.mbnet.fi/awake/english.asp) and Assembly TV (http://www.assemblytv.net).

I think it's pretty cool that they have setup live stream coverage for the people who not able to attend.

This should be interesting to see.

Best of luck to all entrants, respect to the demoscene and the talents of the people that make it.

damn  :-(  the Spectrum although allowed, isnt included by default, so there maybe no spectrum demos there. i have been working on a sort of an intro, dedicated to a friend of mine for her website, which is the theme of the intro. maybe i should submit it? im kind of embarrassed to though, its my first demo/intro/ whatever you want to call it, but then at least thered be something for spectrum there. its a couple of drawn screens, a little synthesized speech, a few flashing stars, music ( not done by me but credits given ) and a scroller. much of it is in basic, but it runs well.

its still not quite done, maybe another day or two, but theres 5 days until the party starts.

what do you guys think i should do? should i go for it?

yay! i was told i can get in, but only as long as there is someone there who brings aolng a spectrum and knows how to operate it, because they dont. im still not sure how this will work, id have to send it as a tape image file, so theyd either have to load it on an emulator or transfer it back to tape to load on the real thing.

ah gee, im gonna embarrass myself.
