A new version 4 of the professional audio harddisk recording software 'Audio Evolution' has been announced and will be available for Amiga OS4.0 only. This is the announcement at the Audio-Evolution website: "Coming soon... Audio Evolution 4 for AmigaOS 4 only!!". No other informations have been released yet.

This is the sort of great software that the Amiga needs to make a come back....

Now all I have to do is get an AmigaOne and OS4 and I WILL go on a software byeing spree..

Cool. Not tried Audio Evolution yet, but if and when the SharkPPC comes out, and OS4 runs on it, i'll buy a copy to use with my lovely Repulse soundcard :-D

Why For AmigaOS4 "only" ? :-?
Will it use extensively the OS4 API ?
Did B.Hermans made you sign an exclusive contract ?

Why For AmigaOS4 "only" ?
Well, it won't be released for OS3/68k because I want to
guarantee quality. These kind of programs need a lot of
cpu power (mainly for realtime effects etc.), so a PPC
processor is really required. Besides that, we need to move forward, so
sticking with OS3 is not good for the market. We all need to
move on! Also, maintaining several versions is not a viable
option for me since I have limited time and still have RSI after 3 years. :cry:
There will be a (limited) 68k demo though.

Some parts, yes.

Makes sense. I had a go of the demo of the previous release on my 030, 18meg A1200. While my machine couldn't really cope with it, it was enough to make me want a new machine & software *like that*. Now that looks like a dream that will finally come true.

Yes, and AE4 will be a MAJOR update to AE3!

It is scanner software... DOLT.
Anyway this is off topic (sorry).
The Audio software does look great and is definately on my "must purchse" list and only slightly behind my A1
