Newtek has released a FREE Linux renderer for Lightwave 3D.
For more, see NewTek's Press Release (http://www.newtek.com/news/releases/07-23-02-c.html)
If AmigaOS4 can be more efficient and stable than Linux there may be a chance that this renderer will be ported.

Ok I read this twice, nowhere does it mention an Amiga port... I do wish people wouldn't suffix their postings with wild speculation or wishlists...
I wouldn't have wasted my time reading it if I had known it had nothing to do with Amiga..
Best Regards
Skyraker.

It's unlikely we'll see an Amiga OS port of ScreamerNet [7.5] - The whole point of releasing it on Linux is so people can set up renderfarms on i386 compatibles using a free OS.
Also, why would you want an AmigaOne as your render-node? I'd rather be running LightWave 8 on it and let Linux boxes do the network rendering...

Hm, I doubt, that 600Mhz G3 will be more usable to render something, than 2Ghz+ x86. It is not only an OS issue, but matter of the raw power.

Hi all,
I apologise sincerely for any confusion and wasting of time.
I showed my enthusiasm and excitement by not being more careful with my personal views.
Again I am very sorry.

The 600mhz G3 of course not! But the 1Ghz G4, let alone the G5 will.

@Valan
Actually I would say that people should read what you write more carefully, rather than mouth off without due consideration.
I read your post and sounded like a particular hope of yours, and did not imply Newtek would be writing anything for the Amiga. I see nothing wrong with adding a particular desire at the end of a post, we all have them and it's perfectly reasonable of you to state yours where ever you feel like doing so.
I hope your enthusiasm is not muted by sour people.
Enthusiasm is what makes Amiga.org a more friendly place to send out your thoughts and I hope you will pay no attention to those that are less optimistic than you.
