Title: Payback for Linux
Post by: kubyx on July 12, 2002, 10:43:04 PM
Amiga developers Apex Designs (http://www.apex-designs.net) have announced that they plan to release a Linux version of their Grand Theft Auto inspired game Payback (http://www.apex-designs.net/payback.html).  According to the news on their homepage, they're aiming for a release about two months from now.

Developer Dan Olson has posted a brief status report and a few screenshots (http://www.apex-designs.net/payback_x86_report.html).

Payback is designed to beat Grand Theft Auto in everyway.

Ok, silly me... didn't see it posted before, oh well.

I thought this was very important, and good news! :-D

Now, if I could only get the demo to run on my Amiga 1200, without rebooting the system!

Can anyone help me with this issue?

No idea, it starts up fine, but when it says "Get tot he phones!" or something like that, it locks up, and my Amiga reboots by itself. :-(

Wow that is weird. You are using AGA on the A1200 right? I've never tried on AGA, only P96. Maybe try asking this question in the forums. If that fails try email James Daniels himself.

Have you got enough RAM? Are you using the software or hardware renderer? I'd also suggest you check the FAQ (if you haven't already) here (http://www.apex-designs.net/payback_faq.html).
