Gathered informations about upcoming Amiga OS 4 are placed on
http://yuinternet.com/amiga/amigaos40-1.htm
This huge article might be interesting if you speak Serbian.
-
Can anyone translate?! :-?
-
in my country (serbia) there is one phrase, and we like to use it:
'speak serbian, and the whole world will understand you' :))
-
@beauty
Thats allmost as nice as:
"Am deutschen Wesen soll die Welt genesen."
-
Ipak hvala amiga.org!
you all know this SERBIA YEEAA
-
Kronos what's genesen? Sounds like past tense of something?
-
@Elektro
Means "to heal"/"getting better"
Was something the Kaiser said at the end of the 19th century when
Germany got a few colonies.
rude translation:
"The german way will heal the world " :-o
-
OK...
Anyway what beauty said is a joke...
-
@Elektro
Saying this sentence in Germany is ALWAYS meant as a joke, not even
those hairless idiots would use it.
-
@beauty
>> 'speak serbian, and the whole world will understand you' :))
So why the only word I understood was "Amiga"? :P
@Kronos
Das Gerat ins nicht wasser tauchen! :P (that`s the only frase I know in German lol)
An arxisoume twra na grafoume o ka8enas sthn dikia tou glwssa xese mesa! :o)
-
ah and "Ein Beer bitte?" or it was bier? bah anyway :)
-
-
that`s the only frase I know in German lol)
And it doesn't even make sense:
"Drown the device into non-water " :-o
And "Bier" is disgusting anyway :-D
-
Don't you think he meant:
Das Gerät nicht ins Wasser tauchen!
It might have been standing on Classic Amigas :-D
-
@hnl_dk
Nice day everybody !!!
Now I have to come to the topic of language.
He (I) Spoke that I too like beer (det helle)
Ok that won't work.
My head/skull ???? are we all gone mad ?
Can you imagine it ?????
Do you see Kronos I can do that also
-
@Kronos
Have you ever tried Ceres Red Erik??? :-D :-o :-D :pint:
-
@hnl_dk
No, and I won't as my experience with beer is that it tastes the same
regardless which direction it takes through my throat ;-)
Btw:
How is my translation ?
Did I get atleast something right ?
-
"The german way will heal the world "
Lets hope they do better than their last 2 attempts.
Skyraker.
-
Sorry Kronos ;-)
I was writing about, if it wouldn't be the best if we used a language that everybody seems to understand.
But language isn't everything ;-)
But I think it would ease the understanding!!!
Don't you think, what Kronos???
---------------------
I think it was something like that ;-)
-
I really think you should try Ceres Red Erik!!!
It almost like AmigaOS AND MorphOS ;-) :-o ;-)
It has the greatest taste, with a nice User Interface :-D :pint:
It's Danish, but I have never seen it in Denmark :-?
I have only seen it in Germany :cry:
But then it great that it takes 10 minutes to get to Germany :-D ;-) :-D

Greeklish:Afiste tis malakies kai metafraste!

I could translate it but everything in the article is already known. It's basically just a summary of things known (past & present). You're not missing anything.
-

My brain hurts seeing all of these different languages!
-
He he...
-
One would understand the article better if one *read* Serbian.
-
For the curius, hnl_dk said something similar too; in english please.
Some Swedes understand Danish perfectly. And Norwegian too as a matter of fact.
And I quote Ernst Hugo Järegård: "Danskjävlar!"
In a humorous sense that is :-)
Oops! I should've read the ENTIRE thread before posting...
-
And I quote Ernst Hugo Järegård: "Danskjävlar!"

Yup. I speak wedish ( duh! ) and danish and somewhat understand norwegian ( it's easier to read than hear ). Got to learn finnish and icelandic ( ? ) ( or norse or whatever it's called in english )

That's just Italian, everyone can understand it. How about some Swytzerdutch? :-)
-
Good lord I have a hard enough time with english! :-P
-
How about some Swytzerdutch?
AFAIK there is a 4th language in Switzerland (apart from german,french,italian)
called räteromanisch (or so). That would be nice I'll say ;-)
-
Yup! I'd bet it's much easier for you germans... Or do you have other official lanuages ( studied german once but don't remember much. ) ???
-
What about binary language?¿?
-
Or do you have other official lanuages
You mean apart from turkish, polish,russian and a few others :-P
O.k. if you really mean "official", there is a tiny minority in the far
eastern corner of Germany called "Sorben". Their language is something
like russian or czech (don't hit me if I'm wrong) and all streets are name
in german and sorbisch.
AFAIK the same goes with the danish minority in the north, but both
languages are not official to the point where they would be used in
local schools or so.
-
That's just Italian, everyone can understand it. How about some Swytzerdutch?
this is actually very old italian, 13th century, it's a poem i had to study in school, and believe me it's not that easy to undertand.. :-)
No, no schwytzerdutch spoken here, garman is hard enough! And about reto-romanish all i can say is "Alegra"! (hello) :-P
-
@Redrumloa
Good lord I have a hard enough time with english!
Of course you do , you're American ;)
Skyraker. ;-)

-
Just like there is German schools in Denmark (Sønderjylland/Nordschleswig),
are there also Danish schools in Germany (Sydslesvig/Südschleswig)!!!
But it’s not an official language :-D :-D :-D
-
Thats what I would call Hexadecimal ;-) :-o ;-)
-
AFAIK the same goes with the danish minority in the north
I dont even think the danes would call that danish... :-P :-P :-P
-
Thats what I would call Hexadecimal
Oh, and I guess you would like to translate it into 1's and 0's?
IMHO it's already binary as it's on the net.
-
'De ste braco Srbi. Pa nisam znao da nas ovoliko ima. Mislio sam da sam jedini iz BG-a koji visi ovde. :-D
-
tu smo brate srbine, javi mi se na private email da se zdruzhimo u zajednicu :))
-
@whabang: You bet!
Barsebäck är den sista svenska bastionen. :-)
Ok, now I owe all the danish here an appologise.
But you're not gonna get it!!! Bwahahahahaha! :-) :-D :-) :-D

@ ilgulamc
>Chi e' colei che vien e che ogn'om la mira, . che fa tremare di chiaritate l'are si che parlare null'uomo puote ma ciascun sospira?
Is there any Italian that could translate it in modern Italian? It should be something like this.... (non ho capito un tubo :P)
Chi e` colei che viene e che ogni uomo la guarda (mirar is used in Spanish as see but in italian now has some other sense),. che fa tremare di "chiaritate" (?!?) "l`are" (?!? aria?) si che parlare nell`uomo "puote" (puo` ?) ma ciascuno sospira?
>this is actually very old italian, 13th century... and believe me it's not that easy to undertand...
Indeed even I that I`m studing in Italy had a little problem to translate it but stilI I can`t get any sense out of it. (I`m not too good in Poetry :P)
>mais je peux parler français si vous voulez sa sera plus facile pour tout le monde, oder?
Oui:)
Oi pio koufes 3enes glwsses pou exw dei se ayto to thread einai oi skandinabikes! Poy 8a mou paei 8a ma8w kapoia stigmh :P
-
@dragon
my first language is italian, i am from the italian part of switzerland ;-)
The meaning of the poem is:
Chi e' colei che arriva e che tutti gli uomini la guardano, e che fa brillare l'aria attorno a se' (a causa della sua bellezza) e che porta con se l'amore in un modo talmente incredibile che tutti gli uomini vorrebbero parlarle ma nessuno puo' (nessuno si sente abbastanza all'altezza per farlo).
and by the way is a poem by Guido Cavalcanti
