:-) It's good to see a mailing address for snail-mail orders.  I don't own a credit card, but I'll be able to support the community now...

O.k. McBill's execup have allways been a good laugh, but this one .....

So the voucher is not about pre-selling ?
They don't take your money without delievering (now) ?

-> It's a 50$ t-shirt  :-P

Sounds good to me.

I was one of those guys sitting on the fence - as Bill put it.  But now I want my $50 t-shirt more than anything ( ;-)  kronos.)

What a honest and optimistic update from Amiga Inc.  Don't tear it apart too much now lads!

Oh, Come on give the guys a break, They have realised they made a hash of things and are now trying to make amends. Did you read the full Exec update?

And I quote from Bill`s update...

Quote
"How many Amiga customers can we look forward to, as a base for a return on our investment in the market?" "We are not interested in spending money developing software, only to sell a few hundred copies."

In view of this, I think asking us, the users to contribute up front, is not unreasonable, after all if no one else takes up the offer 301 users is next to useless.  It`s simple really, if we want to make the Amiga a viable platform once more we have to put our money where our mouths are and cough up in advance.

Besides you get a nice, overpriced granted,  t-Shirt and inside news info for a year. Not bad.

It`s no longer a coupon, it`s more like a fna club, which is what we are, fans of the Amiga computer.

Time to stop winging, lets start supporting financialy

For what it`s worth, I shall be using my local dealer ASAP.

I am one of those market-killing guys who won't buy an A1 until I've read a review :-)
So as soon as one of you get your board and AmigaOS4, write a mini-review and post it here, allright? :-)

@MikeyC

1. Get another avartar NOW ! :-o  It's just to confusing  :-x

2. I do consider myself an Amiga-fan, but definitly not an AmigaInc-fan.

3. What are they developing that is so closely related to OS4/A1 that
they need an upfront information on sales for 2 products made
by 2 different 3rd-party companies ?

I agree with you, though it's a pity they didn't think this through before announcing the $50 coupon scheme. At least those who sign up are getting something now in return for their cash.
I suppose it's not bad value for a fanzine, T-shirt and the chance to buy a things at a discount.

Seems I was right !
Removing the faithful kings won't stop us "big guys" going completly off-topic  ;-)

Allready thought about a new avartar myself, but haven't found the
"raw-material" for it yet.

Darn!
Now Amiga Inc makes a new exec update and destroy my statistics about how many sold tickets and the nr of hits the page had - typical...  My linear relationship which by last hour could be described by nr_of_sold_coupons = 0.46t + 230 would lead to around 360 sold coupons after roughly t = 276h. I guess it would have become broken anyway when they start to receive payments from other continents :-)

I don't think its that bad an idea.  Oh and i'm a fence sitting person btw...

It does make me wonder exactly how big this 'club' will be  :-?

If they are just doing market research, why the £32 coupon ??

Not bothered about a t-shirt but the A1 discount could come in handy  :-)

One thing that was holding me back from ordering a coupon was that i have no credit card.

By the end of the week, you should also be able to purchase this promotion through your local Amiga dealer.

So, that one is solved.
Now for the other one:
:-? AmigaOne or upgrade my existing 1200 with a SharkPPC :-?
The AmigaOne seems to be much closer to release.
I guess i will have to decide soon.

Well, computers are associated with reason, and it's hard to understand a company in this business being backed by faith alone. Besides, Kronos is like a control rod in a nuclear reactor. If he wasn't here to temper the enthusiasm, it might hit critical mass and experience a meltdown  ;-)  .

Well, that update really explained everything

"I Am Amiga" Club Membership/Promotion   :-)

Is that a one size fits all T-shirt?  For 50 USD I hope we can choose a size that fits.  Otherwise, mine may not get down over my stomach.

Anyway, it looks like I have up to a year to find a dealer in Canada.  I hope someone steps up to the plate.

Meanwhile, I got QNX 6.2 working on my PC last night.  I really like it, but I have to download Opera again so I can paste smilies onto my posts (using Netscape on Windows ME for this post).

I am also looking forward to trying out Amithlon 2.0.

Yay! Me now happy!

At the end of the day £32 for a t-shirt isn't to bad, I have brought some at £50 (Don't ask!)

This confusion is now a little bit clearer in my head now.

Now all we need is some good news on amithlon2 :-D

Oh come on! While I don't think I've ever agreed with anythingh Kronos has said, Gary_c summed it up perfectly when he said Kronos is..er...a Control Rod! Plus, Kronos is a King of Babble-on and has been around here for a while now.

So he's entitled to his opinion....this is not Amiga.weloveyou.youcan'tdoanythingwrong.org - it's a forum for all opinions.

Back to the topic....the exec update sounds much better - but why does it always take another exec update to explain the first?  :-?  :-D

Cheers,

J

Ladies and Gents,

This is an official "at least TRY to stay on topic" slap.  It's great if you want to talk openly, but do it in the forums, not the news area.
