Gary Peake has asked that this information be passed along.
======================================
I have received a few hundred emails that there are concerns from our Euro and Scandinavian Amigans about not having credit cards and thus not being able to take advantage of the current coupon promotion. Bill has quickly worked out the following for any who wish to do it another way.
Simply get an American Express (or other) money order, check or whatever in the equivalent of $50.00 US (ANY bank worldwide can do this for you) and mail postal mail to:
Amiga Inc.
P.O. Box 887
Ravensdale, WA 98051
A coupon will be sent back to you after the funds are received and tallied. All benefits of the current promotion will apply to anyone who uses this method of signing up per Bill McEwen.
We do NOT recommend you send cash through postal mail! Any bank worldwide can make the conversion into US dollars and all banks have
some form of money order similar to American Express available for their patrons.
Please make sure ALL appropriate information is sent with your check or money order.
name, email address, home address, phone number, etc.
A listing of current dealers who will be carrying the AmigaOne is here (http://www.eyetech.co.uk/amigaone/dealers.php)
Sincerely,
Gary Peake
Amiga Inc.

Sounds like there will be a few hundred more coupons sold:-)
-
Yeah, but will there be enough sold to reach the lower limit for the drawing?
Besides, I think some people are alittle to rabid about this. I've been seeing minute by minute updates on sales tally on almost all the lists I'm on.
189 sold

Jeps :-D :-o :-D
I'm going to the bank tomorrow :-D
-
Yeah, but will there be enough sold to reach the lower limit for the drawing?
I think 2500 is quite possible. 50,000 under these circumstances is quite unrealistic though;-) Then again, wouldn't it be sweet to be wrong?
-
50,000 under these circumstances is quite unrealistic though
Unless they extended the deadline.
Didn't they do that with the Party Pack purchase date?
I can't remember as its been over a year now and my memory isn't what it used to be.
-
Erm...does anybody here know if AmigaOne in this case means AmigaOneG3-SE, or if it means "any AmigaOne branded computer"? I still haven't decided whether I'm going for the Eyetech or the Elbox solution...although, with the lack of information from Elbox lately, I'm leaning towards the Eyetech board for the time being.

So far, I figure the counter is at about 400 (counting paypal, the site, and send-ins). Almost 20% of what I figured, so cool... Trouble is, they have seven days to finish, and the most ardent supporters have already gotten theirs (the 200 from today), so unless there's a miracle, or they push it constantly, the numbers (rate of purchase) will start to slide between now and 7 days.
-
Im an "ardent supporter" but I havent got my coupon yet ;-)
-
The coupon offer is only valid for full A1 systems where the OS is pre-loaded on the HD (bummer).
I was gonna buy it (the coupon) but since its only for a complete setup the parts i already have will be pretty much useless, however i will still buy the A1 mobo when avaible.
-
Are you sure the offer is about systems with OS preloaded on harddisk?? Where have you read that?
I haven't heard anything about that... I guess would
be better that somebody at Amiga Inc. made the
offer clear about this topic (i.e. if it applies also
to the mainboard/OS combo).

Most people I know (here in Sweden) will get their pay checks today.. Don't know about other countries, but this might have delayed some people wanting to get one.
btw. I wonder what the shirt looks like.. hope it's black ;)
-
I wrote a mail asking about the pre-loaded issue and Gary replied that it was so.
-
well I personally might have $50 dollars, but even still I'd rather wait till payday, when I can budget things properly....
so sure, the first round of full fanatics may have already paid, but there will be a round of semi-fanatics pouring in anytime now.
The number of prepayers says little about final sales, but still 2500 ppl stupid enough to prepay (like me I guess), is quite incredible!
