AMP is a Movie Player for PPC based Amigas. Its fast, it runs VCD/SVCD/DVD movies and so on. Get it at AmiDog. Now a new beta is for downloading. Only
registered users can use it.

The headline is wrong - this beta is not for registered users only - I
have not yet registered AMP and I just downloaded this BETA and played
an MPEG with it. Maybe the story poster tried a file other than an
MPEG - the unregistered version only plays MPEG.
-
Does it cope with DVDs then?
-
Havent tried, but SVCD is MPEG-2 and works really
nice. So DVD should not be a problem, but the speed.
If you have CyberstormPPC or other turbo boards with
SCSI controller on it, use it! Because the internal
A4000 IDE controller uses a lot of cpu. As I've said
before, get a ACARD adapter. It gives you the possibility
to add IDE devices on your SCSI controller. Its better
with 40mb/sec than 300k and cpu usage..

The beta is for all users, there are currently no restrictions (no annoying popups, no missing features) in the unregistered version.

But don't hesitate to support Mattias because of that reason =)
