Amiga.com (http://www.amiga.com/) has been updated as many people have noticed already. The update includes an improved front page with links to already existing pages such as, Amiga-Anywhere (http://www.amiga-anywhere.com/), Amiga Dev site (http://www.amigadev.net/) and the Corporate site (http://www.amiga.com/index2.php), which is simply their "old" website. The new link on the front page leads to the Official AmigaOS website (http://os.amiga.com/) which has a number of features such as News (http://os.amiga.com/), Forums page (http://os.amiga.com/forums/), Events (http://os.amiga.com/events), Dealers (http://os.amiga.com/dealers/) and an About page (http://os.amiga.com/about/).

I notice that most of their pages now end with the extension of ".php". I hope they're not using the same type/version/whatever of PHP that Amiga.org used to use. That would likely leave them wide open to being hacked like this very site was last/this year.

Was there something wrong with the version of PHP this site was useing? PHP from version 3, has been very stable, fast and secure. I dont see why anyone would have a problem with it.
The only reason Amiga.org would have been insecure would have been from the code produced from useing php.
That is, its not PHP's fault, PHP rox :) - it would have been a developer error. NukePHP (which amiga.org used to use for their website software) was known to be insecure.
I love PHP, leave it alone :P.

When i checked out os.amiga.com, the forums already hade well over 1000 members, which ant bad :).
I wouldnt mind being able to mack an account though!!! Anyone else having problems with that?
This is a very proffessional look at their support :). I hope this site works well for them. I can see it being a great resource for Amigaians everywhere, just like Amiga.org.

They are using a custom designed PHP backend that isn't available to the public. While they were script_kiddied by *cough* BL4F (http://RaM/DC) *cough* they still had all of their directories in tact. (just proves the kid didn't even know how to "rm -rf" while he had access to root level). The kid has tried a couple other times but will deny every bit of it since he didn't succeed.
It reminds me of the many IRC sessions he pops in and out of asking what SQL means and what the difference is between that and PL_SQL (I've collected over 20 IRC logs in the past two years alone). I even remember him freaking out cause he found a quote loophole in an html form saying how "all mighty" he was. You would have thought the kid would have a half a clue by now but noooo... still trying to be a psuedo lamer. I'll be happy when I make my way down to AUS though... spend a few weeks in jail... head back to the states. Oh yeah, it will be worth it to deface his property. The point is, all the web sites that had been hacked in the past is done by the same kid.
:pint:

Custome designs PHP backend that isnt avaliable to the public? Are you talking about the PHP engine or the backend for the site, which is written in PHP?
Anyway, on another note, did anyone notice the logo for AmigaOS on the AmigaOS site? Yes, its got a nice bluey colour on the "OS" part of it, BUT, their useing the old logo (or text) for the Amiga.
Remember what it used to look like before Escom took over? Remember that eteched out "Amiga" in your Amiga's Keyboard? Its that style again! - wow :)

Could not insert data into users table
Crap crap crap! Come on Amiga you'd have more than 1000 registered members if your damn registration worked! I'm on a flipping Wintendo PC using IE!
Hmm..Maybe it only works on Amiga browsers :-P

General Error
Could not insert data into users table
Same error here too with Amiga....so I switced on my PC tried with Opera and nothing changed... so it works only with IE the registration?
They should at least make a version of their sites (amiga anywhere, AmigaOS4.x forum etc) for Amiga browsers or other alternatives than IE like opera and netscape (anyone tried netscape?)
-
I just found that neither with IE works!!! so what`s the deal?
