Title: Open Office Version 1.0 goes live

follow this Link from Theregister (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/25112.html) to find out more about the open source office suite "Open Office 1.0"

In the documentation you will find  the following minimum spec for installing of the PPC version:

Linux PowerPC
Linux Kernel version 2.2.13 or higher
glibc2 version 2.2 or higher
Macintosh PowerPC, IBM RS/6000, Motorola PreP or other Linux compatible PowerPC based hardware
96 MB RAM
250 MB available hard disk space
X Server with 800x600 or higher resolution, with at least 256 colors
Window Manager  :-)

/Finally/ the maths editor is useable.

Yay! No reason to use word now. Now I've mastered Debian I have no need to use windows at all - I can run PSpice 9.1 from wine, as with IE6.
