From the JabberWocky homepage (http://www.amigaworld.de/jabberwocky/index.php): "Jabberwocky is a jabber client software for Amiga. Jabber is an instant messaging system, similar to ICQ or AIM, yet far different. It is open source, absolutely free, simple, fast, extensible, modularized, and cross platform. After receiving the source code of Jabberwocky we began to continue the work on it. We have made it open source and have set up a project on Sourceforge."
Please someone pick up on this and help out!! Jabberwocky is a great program, very Amga in my view!! In the same way our Amiga's can be PC's, Mac's and other machines, we can chat to anyone using MSN, Y! or AOL Messenger using Jabberwocky!!

Will Jabberwocky support in the future also yahoo messenger?
-
It's really not up to the client what is supported. The client just connect to a Jabber server. The server is where the linkage is. The server is modular. Install an ICQ module and call the clients can connect to the ICQ network. Install a module for Yahoo messenger and all the clients can talk on the Yahoo messanger network. That's the basics of how Jabber clients work and it's much more than just IM.

Actually there already *is* a jabber port on Aminet: comm/tcp/jabberwocky.lha. Almost a year old.
/edit
ARGH...thought this post was about a new jabber client but it's exactly the same program on aminet :-D.
God I need some sleep ;-).

Yahoo works also MSN, AIM and ICQ. If your jabber server doesn`t has these services choose another one. You can find a list at http://www.jabberview.com

Sounds a lot like the application Trillian for Windows, a very good idea.
-
I'm running Trillion on my other PC :-)
Take a look in the download section, and just smile. It shows which OS is the daddy :-D
(oops! - this is probably flame bait - but we're not on Ann so I should be safe ;-) )

Maybe if its ported to the DE, it'll be able to be put on one of the AA packs and become the first crossplatform instant messenger :) for PDA's, Desktops, Phones, STB's and other mobile devices... :)
Open Source stuff like this could make AA very popular. That is, Free/AlmostFree Applications for all types of devices :)!!

Hm lets see one is a 68k-version that runs on A600-4000,UAE,
Amithlon without any time-limit.
The other one is a PPC-version that only runs on expensive
and unreliable turbo-boards and an outdated beta-version of
an OS that will kick you out after 2 hours.
I think you better wait for the COS4-version before you call one
OS "daddy".
