Hi yssing,

I agree. Allthough DE seems nice at the moment I only care for AmigaOne and OS4. Nothing more. But I do have the DE Development Kit.

Well we will just have to wait... (we know how to do that  ;-) )
And then maybe in the future when DE and amigaOS gets combined... Well...
But i am happy with every little positive thing that do happen to the amiga...  :-)

I am very interested in DE! I think it is a very promising technology for Amiga. Just like anything, it just needs time to mature and get even better.
I hope it becomes very popular.

I still have a vaque feeling that we don't know everything.
These minor anouncements are made to keep the people "happy" while the real work is done somewhere else. And there is possibility, that when the curtain rises, we might not like what we see (some might love it though...).

OK ! I admit that I don't have inside knowledge (I heard about NOKIA perhaps 2 weeks before it was anounced, no newinside  news since that). The quessing above is just a feeling.

I agree, it seems like there are alot of things happening which we don't know about, yet. However, I think that Amiga Inc has shown a genuine interest in the Amiga and even if we don't understand every move they make, I'm sure it's for the best for all of us in the end.

Keep the faith, brother! ;-)

Has anyone else noticed in the blurb at the end it still (mistakenly) lists the Motorola m68k instead of PowerPC ?  :-o  :-D

Sendo said it has licenced technology to bring Amiga Anywhere games to the platform.

Microsoft Smartphone deals out a pack of games  (http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t284-s2108703,00.html)

This may have been said before, but doesn't anyone find it odd that this is the Amiga Anywhere game pack, yet only runs on a Microsoft device?

Thought the whole idea of AA was it wasn't platform dependant?

I am somewhat confused!  :-?

Still the potential for DE is great, and I love the idea behind it. However still want my AmigaONE and OS4.0  ;-)

what will amiga do next? a PDA-Barcode Battler converter?

i sure as hell hope these crappy game things are an attempt to make a bit of money and to get a foot into the marketplace - because if it is then it`s acceptable. If it isn't and its a serious path for amiga to continue, then i sure as hell hope the don't end up doing anything like Frogger, Horace Goes Skiing etc. etc. etc.

It does indeed offend me that this AmigaAnywhere gamepack so far only runs on Windows devices. Why not a Linux device or anything else. But Windows? But then again, the odds are you sell more of them then.

An AmigaDE Player for Linux has been out for sometime.

A Linux-based version of the AmigaDE will be incorporated into the Nokia Media Terminal.

[Decided to kill this comment... Nevermind :)]

On third thought, i will comment. :) (one of those days, you know.)

Like Anon above me mentioned, there is a linux version already out there. And the DE will be incorporated into AmigaOS.(in version 4.2?) This just looks like a sales gimmick to keep the spoonfed Windows crowd(no offence ppl) comfortable when buying. How much do you want to bet there will be a DE party pack for linux powered devices down the road too?

One thing though, i'd like to see Amiga get onto PalmOS devices as well. Still don't know why they cant get into that section of the market. Must be a licenseing thing.

Once again, it has to be said, the future looks bright. I like the idea of that instant messaging :) . Imagine, when OS5 or before then, and we can use that and also talk on our phones/PDA's/STB's whatever. Great, just great. Infact, that'll prolly be the big selling point of the DE. Communication made easy. It could be a common interface for communication across digital devices. That could work well.

Makes me wanna buy a PDA :)

My only comment would be to say that a company as relatively small as Amiga has to get with the strength if they want to make some fast money. I'm sure that there are many more WinCE devices around than Linux devices so it makes sense to promote to WinCE users as strongly as possible. If it was my business then I think that's what I would do. Aren't you supposed to 'pitch it to tbe best prospects?' At the moment they must be WinCE users!  :-o

I am sorry to say (maybe I did not read it as many times as i should have)
But it looks to me like MS is trying to take the credit..
I would hate it, if AMiGA just became a sub division of MS... :-(

No, it's not a licensing issue, it's a hardware issue. Tao does not have their software able to run on hardware that PalmOS compatibles use. And unless Tao makes it happen, Amiga cannot run on PalmOS devices. It has been rumored for some time now that Palm is looking to upgrade their CPU of choice, and with it the PalmOS. The new CPU would be one that happens to be compatible with Tao's software, which would then make it compatible with AA/DE.

Don't forget that Amiga does not choose where the DE/AA technology runs. They rebrand Tao's technology. They've yet to add any further logic on top of Tao's product. So, if Tao gets their stuff to run on PalmOS, then Amiga gets to run DE/AA on PalmOS.

Did Bill and Fleecy go to the GW Bush school of nothin'-speak?  They put out a lot of words, but there seems to be little if any real content.

Either that or their plans are so uninspiring, that I'm just not getting it.  Back in the day, we called people like Bill and Fleecy for what they sounded like:
Marketroids.

I'll wait for a real Amiga.  Not that I think anybody who says the Amiga was all about the OS will EVER get it.  It's the hardware, stupid.
