Yesterday ELBOX (http://www.elbox.com) released the NEW drivers for their FastATA 1200 controller (http://www.elbox.com/products/fast_ata_1200.html).
Check it out by clicking here (http://www.elbox.com/news_02_04_19.html) ...

Hi all PowerFlyer Users,
How the new Drivers works?
Are they Faster?
Do they work better with CDRW Drives?
regards,
Bosco

I've been using them a couple of days now. At first they seemed a
little slower on reading, but SysSpeed reports no difference. There
has however been about a 15-20% drop in Open and DirScan operations
per second, at least on my system. This is using PFS3, in case that
makes any difference to these things.
Can't comment on CD-RW performance since my CD-RW is SCSI.
However, if you are trying to use an IDE CD-RW and having problems
the docs suggest using Executive to improve the multitasking of the
drives.
Personally I am not using it since I have a BlizzardPPC, and last time
I checked Executive advised against using it on PPC systems. If this
has changed, are anyone is using it reliably with PPC, please let me
know.

are anyone is using it reliably with PPC, please let me...
Running fine on mine , my ppc is unstable cuz of cooling , but now i got that sorted executive hasn`t caused any problems.

Are there any specific tasks I should exclude it from managing to make
sure it works OK? (Defiant springs to mind).

Hi All,
Does anyone on the group is using the FastATA1200
Controller (PowerFlyer), with a LiteON CD-RW
Drive?
As mentioned I have been able to used only in
PIO-0 with MakeCD (latest_Version).
Are there any special setting in the powerFlyer or
MakeCD to use a CDRW?
Regards,
Bosco

I have had a HP CDRW stuck on my powerflyer for some time, and the only way I have ever been able to get it to work is on PIO3. Dont forget the port will run at whatever the slowest device attached to it is. So if u have got an old HDD on the same port it will bring the CDRW down to that speed
