For all you key-crackers out there ...
There are new RC5/OGR clients out. Check out http://distributed.amiga.org/ (http://distributed.amiga.org/) for improvements and bug fixes.
And if your not into RC5 yet, go shame yourself and read this (http://distributed.amiga.org/RC5-64/fm_intro-0.html).

Nice to be able to get rid of that bulky MUIfied Myzar. Still, MUI lovers can still use it, and the client still runs from the shell, so we're all happy :-)
Before anyone asks, yes I have been part of Team Amiga's key cracking for many months now. It is important every Amiga user joins, especially if you have a ppc! We might win! Show the world what Amiga can do!
-
Where not going to win ... unless the AmigaOne comes out and 10000 people buy it and will run RC5 on it ... maybe then we'll win ... :-)
-
nOMAAM,
"Win", as in find the key, and "we" as in the Amiga RC5 Team?
Any computer running the dnet client has a chance to find the key, even if it drags along at 0.1 keys/second. It just has to be issued the "right" work unit.
Of course the chances increase to get that key unit if you're running fast hardware. ;)
Currently 13 G4/500 PowerMacs, some 25 P3/500 win/linux boxen, one poor A4k/040 and some other computers I happen to stumble over are running the client with my e-mail address...
-
Well...Team Amiga's current chance of winning is about 1 in 96 - not bad at all. Only a handful more teams have better odds.
If every Amiga user on the internet were to run the client I'm sure our chances would treble at least - which is why I said it's important everyone does.
With the new Amiga on the way, winning this competition could really bring the Amiga back into the limelight.
Look for yourselves: http://stats.distributed.net/rc5-64/tmsummary.php3?team=200

I know about the "win" and "we" and the "a500 that might find the key" ...
its just not realistic ... DPC will prolly find the key within the 2 months.
:hammer: Dutch Power Cows :hammer:

The odds are 1 in 25 that this team will find the key before anyone else does.

With that kind of negative attitude, DPC will certainly win. :-(
BTW. 1 in 25 is very far from a certainty. I do not believe that DPC will win after all.
Dutch Power Cows are a bunch of non-amiga using f*g*ots ;-) ;-), so let's beat them!!
-
Hehe ... there dutch .. and there cows ...
They can't be beaten .. hehe :-D :-D
-
I hope these guys all upgade their systems when they come out and new clients are made! That could really help Amiga Incs cause!
-
my 603e is cracking now , is yours ! ;)
-
I use my A4000/040@25Mhz, my A600HD with 68030@40Mhz and an Athlon xp 1700+ doing the job ;)
Oh I also used a long time ago Cyberstorm604@233Mhz and 060@50Mhz for about a month but it had problems and I gave it back to the guy from which I bought it :(
